Lately, I haven't been getting any ratings on my works despite spreading them out. Before I was uploading as many as 10 per day. Now I'm only uploading maybe 2 on average. And I haven't uploaded any in the last 2 days. So far for all my works have combined ratings of only:
*Cute - 29
*Cool - 33
*Unique - 40
*I'd live here - 31
For some reason, I feel like I'm being boycotted. There are people who've had the game for less time than me, and they already have way more points than me

I don't think anyone is intentionally skipping you. I think it's just a lot of content and not everyone gets seen. If you share a code with me I'll visit it when I'm off work. I'll go ahead and favorite you and views lots of your designs ^^

But what if I'm not good enough? What if I'm just being a whiny little jerk?
But if you want, here is a code for the family hospital I designed (0598-7799-032)

One thing I would suggest is to make sure to take a good picture. When I am going through Happy Home Network, I mostly visit places that have a funny or pretty or otherwise interesting picture. I don't click on it because of its ratings.

I try to. But I've made over 170 houses and remade all 10 public buildings at least once. I can't help but feel I'm a whiny spoiled brat saying this.

Don't doubt yourself. Confidence goes a long way and how are others supposed to find you interesting if you don't believe it yourself? It's a game designed to be wholesome fun. Just relax and let your creativity flow.

There's millions and millions of players, so Not everyone will probably be seen.

Honestly, there are so many hundreds of thousands of houses on the HHN, I think that the only people who receive large amounts of ratings/feedback are those who publicize their work through other channels - eg. a forum, a blog, or YouTube.

I've visited less than 40 HHN designs, despite having built more than 100 homes in my own game. More than half of those were from codes I found online, not through random visitation.

If you put information about your work out there online, you'll have a better chance of getting visitors and ratings.

This is why I just show my stuff to my family, and don't post on the HHN - I'm not popular online. XD

I've never visited the HHN, to be honest. It's just not something I'm interested in at all. I'm sure your designs are fine. It really only matters if you're happy with what you've created. Maybe the reason I'm not bothering with the HHN is because I don't care if people like my work or not. LOL

So here's how the HHN works:
When you upload, your design hangs out in the "New" section for maybe 5 minutes (depending on how many other people are playing). That tiny window is the best time for it to be seen randomly.

Afterwards, it's filed away under the villager's name, ranked by popularity, so if you didn't get any votes during the brief stay in "New" it will be allllllll the way at the end, and nobody scrolls that far (and also I think it stops scrolling at around 30-40 or so, so the not-rated ones won't even show up). Even if it does show up in the first few of the character list, it's probably still not going to get many votes- people can only search for characters they've designed for, and most people will only search for facilities, or characters they like. So if you're uploading a house for Goldie (who everyone has) or Marshal (who everyone loves) you might get some votes, but if you're uploading a house for Anicotti or Hans... people probably aren't gonna purposefully seek it out.

After a week it is taken off the villager list, and the only way anyone can find it is if you give them the code directly, or if they've favorited you and are browsing through your back catalog.

I play very late at night so mine doesn't get a lot of ratings. Once I design I house I drop the HHN to check out NEW work and give them a rating if I like and have fun. Last night I spent time cooking with a villager.

I'll check your houses tonight.

I don't think you should worry too much about it ^-^
After all you play the game for your own fun and enjoyment. Just because someone else in the hundreds of thousands of uploads gets voted on, doesn't make yours any less special just because it wasn't.

Plus all the ones that have thousands of votes are all popular Tumblr/Blog posters, who have heaps of followers that visit and re blog their designs >//<

Don't feel bad, mine hardly get votes either ..xD

I have never gotten any ratings, and I don't much care. Sure, it's probably because I suck at designing but still.

thank you so much for explaining this!!!! i was wondering why some of my creations were getting absolutely no votes despite them (imo) being quite good! i tend to design for the lesser known villagers. or maybe i'm just kidding myself and my designs are trash but i'd like to live in ignorant bliss

Pretty much why having a tumblr/twitter account for posting HHD houses is crucial if you want more votes. Pretty much why you have lots of assessments and that one girl that has maximum assessments, right? (I should do one right now, but my parents probably won't allow me)

I hate to break it to ya, but that's definitely what you're being right now.

Sooort of. I designed a house for Kitty that has 200 notes on tumblr, but the highest HHN score it has is 17 (which is still p. cool), while the house I made for Bonbon only got 1/10 the # of tumblr notes, but has almost 3x as many ratings. And Jingles's blog is waaaaaaay more popular than mine, but I think I have a higher HHN score. So those sites might get you more votes, but in a really fickle, nonsensical way.

I got most of my notes from what kitchenwisk said about them being featured in the search menu on the HHN. And literally the day they are removed from the list all the notes just stop lol.

Honestly, I think we're all struggling with ratings. It's just hard to get noticed with the Happy Home Network. Better to just advertise yourself with alternative methods, and even then it's still quite hard to get noticed...
