Not sure how to handle this situation...

Not even sure if this is posted in the proper place, but I really just need someone to tell me the polite way of going about this.

So back in December of 2014 I agreed to hold another user's villager, which was Fauna, in my cycle town. I had only anticipated holding their Fauna for a few weeks at most. I checked in with them a few weeks later hoping they would be close to finished, but they said they still had a way to go before they were ready to take Fauna back.

A couple months went by and I occasionally checked my profile here on the forums but they hadn't messaged me. Anyhow, I've really been needing to get back to cycling on my towns because my younger sister and boyfriend have a few villagers they need and since I cycle I agreed to get their villagers for them.

I checked their profile and it says they haven't been online since early February. I left a message on their profile hoping they might see it but I really don't think they are going to be getting online anytime soon...

They've been polite to me and I really don't want to get rid of their villager but I feel like I'm going to be stuck with it forever. I'm really just worried that when they finally do return to the forums and if I've gotten rid of Fauna that they will give me a negative wi-fi rating.

What should one do in a situation like this 0_0 I don't know.

It's been 6 months, just do what you like with it. They can't reasonably expect anything from you after such a long period of time. Probably never coming back anyway.

Okay thank you, I just would hate for them to come back and be angry about it, especially if they're very fond of Fauna. I'll most likely do a giveaway for her, thank you for the response
