Now that reviewers have played for weeks, what can and can’t we move?

Is town square truly fixed to one spot, even after upgrading it from the tent? Can we move villager houses AFTER they’ve already moved in?

It's been confirmed you can move player houses, villager houses, shop locations, etc. I believe resident services is the only big structure you can't move.

from all the reviews i've watched, the town square and airport are fixed. from what i had gathered from the reviews is that we would be able to move shops, villager houses, and player houses after they've been initially placed

Yes, player and villager houses, as well as other facilities, can be relocated—but you have to pay for it.

Resident Services has been confirmed as being non-moveable.

That is good to know that Resident Services is a permanent structure. I better make sure I like where it is!
