Old stuff you don’t miss in previous AC games?

the animals stealing and repainting my roof i dont miss, along with not being able to move flowers either

My little sister plays City folk on the wii, every so often I go in and have to help her with things in game.

Resetti gets her goat a lot because sometimes she'll save but not let it go back to the main menu, which causes him to pop up because it didn't count the game as saved despite it telling her so. I had to ask her about how she was saving it until I realized she was just closing out of it too early, but then, he's already giving her the whole anthem on why you should save. I reset her whole save file, so so far she's only talked to him at the start, but her yelling at me about Resetti popping up and giving her the what what was annoying.

I also learned fishing in CF was ridiculous, the fish whip around in the water so often you have to recast your line 5 different times just to get one fish. The 4 emotes only was also not really too fun to play around with, especially when Shrunk would give you whatever emote he felt like joking about.

I do however miss how big the maps felt in CF, I kind of liked the layers of land you could have, and how the houses looked back in CF.

I remember in GCN, villagers would sometimes want you to buy something... And they'd ask you for ALL the bells you had on hand. No, Wart Jr., I do NOT want to fork over 70,000 bells for some damn steel flooring.

Yeah, I thought it was an interesting change they added in New Leaf.

Wanna know something else? Lack of storage in the GameCube version. Back in the day, it wasn?t that big of a deal to me, but when Wild World had a higher capacity in dressers and other storage furniture, that really made the GameCube version storage feature look bad. New Leaf made Wild World?s look bad too, especially after the amiibo update.

Random house placement was irritating when playing Wild World, and the fact everything was the touch screen and the sky was on the upper screen...

Oh and the same house share for characters.

I agree with you.

Another feature I don’t miss is when all four houses were in the same acre, and in the same placement. But one thing that was better in the older games was sign posts, when animals can only move where a sign is. The signs also have helpful messages on how to play Animal Crossing. But at least we can control zoning, but only to a limited extent.

I don't really miss the town gate from Wild World/City Folk. I sort of liked the atmosphere, but I think the train station is so much better. Also the bus that would drive to the city always bugged me a little. The only way out of your town is a 90? cliff. Maybe the developers were inspired by that one town from Spongebob.

^ City Folk bus in a nutshell.

The mail system in Gamecube was really unnecessarily tedious. You could only select 1 letter at a time, then leave and reenter the building once there were 5 on the desk. I don't know why they decided to do it like that.

Someone already said it but the drawers in the gamecube game holding only 3 slots was insane, they cant even hold furniture!
The basement was always where I'd dump stuff like the models and one time only items, not because I didnt want them but because I cant really get them back easily.

Another thing I'm glad they got rid of was writing letters with a control as bad as the wiimote, like want some wrist pain? Just write a letter in city folk.

Also using the gameboy advance cable to get to the island was lame lmfao

I really don't miss having to water flowers almost everyday because of the lack of ordinances! Ends up feeling more like a chore, and not having to do it leaves you a lot of freedom to do everything else! This is one thing that puts me off some of the older games in all honesty!

Having to go into the menu just to change tools. That was a pain in the first two games, but especially in Wild World since the menus took longer to open up. City Folk introduced the ability to swap tools by pressing left and right on the control pad, and of course it returned in New Leaf. It's a small change that made a big difference.

The fact that it moved so slowly in Wild World made it impossible to catch bees. I played that game quite a bit, but I never got a bee cause I was too slow.

I remember pausing the game to pull out the net and just as I was unpausing the bees were swarming around. It was frustrating but also kind of amusing to watch.

For sure I don't miss having to use the menu to switch tools. Seems like that's totally a thing of the past now though and I doubt they'll remove the option to just cycle them. xD

I also definitely don't miss the attic. It just seems unnecessary, and I never liked having to have a bed downstairs as well as upstairs in order to appease the 'necessities' requirement, it didn't make sense to me. xD Thankfully I took the idea lots of people had and switched the bed upstairs for something that wasn't a bed, like the workout bench, and it made it a little bit better. Still, an unnecessary thing I'm glad was removed. :)

I didn't let the random painting of roofs bother me that much but now that I think about it it did kinda suck.

I think a lot of stuff from previous games that annoyed us could probably still be brought back if they were an option rather than a requirement. xD There are plenty of things I'd think, hey I would love the option to turn this on and off.

I always thought it was a hassle to have to send a fossil to the Faraway Museum so they could check it and send it back the next day in AC:GCN. I mean, I guess it kinda added a nice touch to the whole mail system, but it was still an annoying process (especially when you're like me and store extra items in your letters).
I also didn't like how you could only get 3 fossils back from them each day. It was a slow and tedious process.

I still have like 10 fossils on my game and I'm too lazy to send them in lmao

Ugh, I hated that. I remember back then when I played the game how long it took me to
get the fossil exhibition at least half completed. It was kinda annoying to wait and wait till
you got the fossils back and hoped that you can complete your museum a little bit more.

I don't miss all these "events" like La-Di-Day or Yay Day. I'm glad that they are gone (although
I do really miss the Flea Market).

La-di Day and Yay Day where the worst. I hated the save rooms in Wild World and City Folk. I also don't really miss the dump from gamecube. It was a nice extra but nothing ever happend there.
