One islander per day?

Does only one islander appear a day? I wasted a few tickets and got only empty islands.

I’m having the same issue. Open plot, no villagers on islands. Must be one per day.

It's not one per day, for sure.
I've used several tickets in a day and gotten several different villagers on the islands.
Maybe your plots have already been sold? Check to see if there's a big "SOLD" on the plot sign in red, maybe? That's the only thing I can think of...

I don't think one will appear if you have someone moving in already. The only exception to this was the three house plots you set up ahead of time.

Assuming the campsite just completed, you'll have to wait an extra day. My campsite completed yesterday, but no villager was in. Had one today.

Well I do have the same problem, after the campsite smug villager said he'd move in this morning I placed a plot for a new villager which I found shortly after on a deserted island. I then added another plot for an 8th villager but no matter what I do, the deserted island are empty, even though I have a non sold plot. So it has to be one per day right ?

Ah dang. Yeah mine was completed this morning with no camper. Guess I won’t waste another Nook Ticket today. When there is a camper there tomorrow should there also be an islander on the Nook ticket islands? Thank you!

I then added another plot for an 8th villager but no matter what I do, the deserted island are empty, even though I have a non sold plot. So it has to be one per day right ?

I think it works like this:
(after the first 3 house you build for nook are done)
Islanders will only show up if you have an unsold, placed house plot on your island.
However, if you've already invited one islander today, no more will show up until tomorrow. You can't invite more than 1 a day this way.

Was this during the first wave of houses you set up or was this after you had the campsite?

I think if you invite one of the island villagers after the Smug, you need to wait until they move in first to start inviting more.
That's the only thing that would explain the lack of villagers.
Can anyone confirm this?

When the resident services building is done, talk to nook about infrastructure - chose 'sell some land'

I don't understand this post? I've never had an issue with islanders re-appearing after you move in your first campsite villager

I think by the smug, they are talking about the person at the campsite. So if you invite one more islander after you invited the person in the camper, you cannot invite any more islanders until the one you first invited from the island moves in.

I suppose I could ask: On the day you recruited your first camper, has anyone recruited more than one villager from mystery islands that same day?
