absolutely multiple times, but I couldn't for the life of me tell you how many. it's been far too long
my guess is they were intended as a way for people to get a jump start on hybrids while the game was relatively new, and were removed because they were far more widespread accessible than intended (especially if it was meant to be a super secret bonus) and/or because they had finished serving their new release game purpose

I started playing later so I wasn’t even aware these were a thing! And what a bummer all of the stuff mentioned in these posts were removed. I think it would have been so fun to visit these islands. And I worked soooo hard to get my hybrids, lol! Sharks would have been awesome. I imagine maybe they were too scary for the littles? I often don’t understand the decisions developers make in games. Their changes often don’t seem in alignment with players wants.
I came across them 3 or 4 times before they got removed. I distinctly remember the windflower one, and I'm pretty sure I came across another variation of a hybrid island as well.
I started playing after they were patched out. By the time I got the game a lot of people already had tons of excess hybrids so I could get them that way but it would have been special to get to see hybrid island.

I started playing after the hybrid islands were removed, so I never got to visit one. However, it would have been a nice surprise to encounter one by lucky chance!
I either blocked this information out of my mind or didn't know this was a thing because this doesn't sound like something I ever experienced! ;o; Hybrid islands sound so cute and fun. I voted no because I can't remember... but it's a shame that they patched it out, I really don't think there would have been any harm in keeping them, and adds more variety to the types of islands we can visit. What were they like exactly? Was it like multiple hybrids of the same kind, and if so how many colours? (ex: pink, blue and orange hyacinths on one island idk).
i wanna say i did but idk if im remembering right.... i might have seen a hybrid flower island that was all windflowers? i thought they were all regular flowers, i vaguely remember blue windflowers but didnt know they were hybrid. i dont like windflowers so i kinda just ignored it and forgot about it

I didn't get the game until later so pretty sure I never experienced these, but they sound nice.
oh man, I miss the hybrid islands!! I don't remember how many times exactly I visited them since it's been 5 years and I have the memory of..... a newborn... but it was definitely more than once! they're a big reason why my island is so overrun with flowers (still) and why I have so many hybrid tulips; I loved stocking up on pink and orange tulips especially!! the hybrid islands always made me so happy, I'm still sad and confused why Nintendo got rid of them!!

There were hybrid islands?? Gosh its been too long, somehow I feel like I remember a kind of island being removed but I didn't realize that they were hybrid islands. I probably visited one but I have no memory of it lmao.
