only one island per switch

Even if you could switch regions to have two islands, you'd have to play the game in that region :/ you would miss out on all the holidays and extras from your region, right?

I really... don't like this strategy and hope that they make a different way to make another town than to spend $360 on a new console. My sister and I have been WAITING for this day only to find out that she can't play on her own island now, like she wants to, unless we buy a completely different console. Even if we bought a switch lite, she would be confined to only handheld and miss out on HD. really sucks, and I would be willing to pay for access to a new island just because neither I nor my sister can afford to purchase a whole new everything JUST for this game.

I have had a Switch since 2018. But, I really want two islands, and I prefer handheld, so I bought a yellow Switch Lite too that was just delivered today. The idea is to have two islands and have my human characters travel between them via local wireless. I hope I can do that with no problems since I don't want to pay for Nintendo Online to do that, unless I have to.

There's a method to my madness, as the saying goes - - I am very old (almost 72) and prefer not to play with other people, so this is what works for me. In previous AC games I have enjoyed restarting my towns every two months or so, and when I do that I dump my very best stuff in the other town and then retrieve it after restarting.

Anyway, the Switch Lite is nicer than I expected. It cost $194, but I had some credit card rewards so I only had to pay $171 for it including tax and shipping. Now I have to pre-order a second copy of ACNH. Nintendo, take my money! LOL Oh well, I'd rather cut back elsewhere in my budget.

I’m a little disappointed at having to share an island, especially since I’m not a fan of how my mom plays the game at all and the random things she adds in because she’s under the impression that characters will like her town more if she puts in EVERYTHING that’s requested, but I think that I’ll get used to it and just have my own “area” on the island. My sister and I play similarly so at least there’s that lol

Now that's dedication! You should be able to play over local wireless without issue. The mom and daughter seemed to do that very thing in the promotional ad.

Oh good!!! I did it with my 3DSXL's for ACNL, but wasn't entirely sure. I guess I didn't notice the mom and daughter doing that in the ad. And thank you for the compliment too.
