Opinions on refurbished/renewed macbooks... hacked?

Im worried about buying a renewed or refurbished macbook laptop not only because i think they might be hacked but im not sure if theyre as reliable as a brand new... also which is better renewed or refurbished?

you can buy refurbished units directly through Apple if you're worried about them being hacked.

usually it's not a problem since the hard drives are factory reset before shipment.

depends where you buy them from. if it’s from apple i think it’s perfectly safe but if it’s from another site i would check reviews first. ideally you get from apple tho

I think that when compared to buying a new laptop, the chances of getting something lower quality are higher when you buy refurbished. It's usually quite reliable when you purchase from Apple though (though I've never tried it myself). Apple does have a good warranty though, so you do have protections if the unit isn't quite working so well.

Just make sure that you read all of the product specifications carefully before you make a purchase, as Apple can sell all different kinds of models & years as part of their refurbished stock.
