Pascal/Mermaid diy glitch

I have read about 2 versions of this glitch. One is if you make a diy he stops giving them and the other is if you get a crafted diy from someone else you stop getting them. I think there is a 3rd version. I have not made or received any of the items in this set. I was given a diy by pascal on day one of the summer update and I learned it. I have not gotten a single diy since and I know I'm not the only one. I have gotten nothing but pearls and 1 dress. So I think that just learning a diy may be causing the glitch. I'm not saying it's happening to everyone but it seems to be happening to a lot of people. I have 2 extra characters so I think I will use them as a test. Get a diy but don't learn it and see if they keep getting them. we'll see how it goes.

Test day 1-I went diving with both my spare characters. Both got diys from pascal. neither of them learned them(one i gave to my main and the other she already knew so she sold it).
day 2-my main got a pearl again,shocker. both my alts got diys(lamp and shelf). Well if my main is glitched at least ill get the diys this way
day 3-my main git guess what? another pearl. sigh. 1 of my alts also got a pearl and the other got mermaid shoes.

I haven't really been going out of my way to get any DIYs from Pascal. I have gotten two from him so far, with one dress and one pearl. Maybe pearls are more common than DIYs?

I've gotten other mermaid diys and clothing items after learning the mermaid recipes

idk about the other cases, as I've neither crafted or obtained any of the mermaid diy stuffs yet, but this just feels like a prime example of bad luck to me

Main player has learnt DIY recipes and still gets new DIY and clothing.
2nd player on 2 islands DIY recipes are on the floor in their basements. Those learnt none and got more recipes and clothing.
Main player on 2nd island and the 2 extra players have got a repeat DIY recipe. None of my players have completed the set.
No trading with others and my players. I want the complete set before I take the recipes from my other players.

I haven't tried today but I thought it was just random...I got 2 diys but then 2 pearls and the dress and crown. So it will be interesting to see if I get another diy. I will be sad if I have the glitch. My daughter had trouble getting Pascal to just show up. Sorry to hear there is a glitch going around.

that just sounds like poor luck lol, i've learned each recipe as i received them and i still get recipes

Yeah, what I've heard is that as long as you don't have any of the furniture in the catalog or any of the DIYs, you're safe.

But if all else fails, your best bet is to create a second character and find all the recipes on that account.

I can only share to you my experience so far.

I collected all the recipes and crafted them. (I got the recipes from trading with others.) So far, I haven't received anything else from Pascal except pearls. This is now my fifth consecutive day. I am after the dresses. But it looks impossible at this point.

I think this may just be bad luck which I have also experienced - after my first mermaid recipe, I received a pearl, then a dress, then a pearl lol

I've gotten 4 DIYs, all the mermaid clothing, and the rest have been pearls between my main and one alternate characters. I've been diving every day since the July 3rd update and haven't crafted any of the items. Seems like bad luck but that doesn't make it feel any less frustrating. XD

Just to give everyone an update, I got my sixth consecutive pearl.

I haven't gotten any DIYs at any point in the last week. I either get dresses, shoes, or pearls. Mostly pearls! As a result, I've been buying most of the mermaid DIYs here! Especially since my friend crafted me some items and I know there's no chance of getting the DIY now! They've sent through a couple of patches since the update, you'd think this glitch would be a priority they'd want to get fixed!

I was getting diys from pascal, and then I received mermaid shoes. After the mermaid shoes I have received nothing but pearls for like a week now.

For the past five days, both my main (who is learning the DIY) and my side character (who isn’t learning any until my main character learns them first) have only gotten pearls...

Come on Pascal, give me the DIYs already... I can’t do anything with the pearls if you don’t let me get the DIYs to make them with. Maaaaan

This is what we are trying to confirm at the moment. I crafted them all myself. I wanna see if my streak will end.

My friend went 11 days before getting a DIY. Sometimes it's just bad luck.

Today marks the 17th time that I received a pearl from Pascal.

I won't call this a coincidence anymore or a streak of bad luck. I am not even sure if this what they designed it for. However, I believe that Pascal won't give you any recipe or clothing if you have them all in your catalog. (This includes all the dresses and tiara.)

I had a LONG run of pearls, but it's evening out now, so I think it's a matter of RNG luck. Frustrating, but he will give everything eventually.
