Pascal - When does he come, and how often?

I know that he comes when you catch a scallop, but is it at a certain time of day or year? Because I caught a few scallops in a row without him showing up. Does anyone know?

By the way, you have a seriously cool looking town in your signature. How did you put the picture there? I read the instructions, and I don't quite get it. As you can see by my total lack of signature or avatar.

Pascal comes year round. He only shows up with the 1st scallop you get in your town by diving (not on the island). I have found that if your pocket is full (16 items) he won't show up when you get your 1st scallop of the day. It seems that if you have picked up a scallop from the shore, he won't show up when you get your 1st from diving that day. I've had all the pirate items for a while, so I might be wrong on the seashell part, but I don't think so.

You need to dive for it in order to find him. Obtaining a Scallop otherwise won't work. He only comes once in a week.

--it must not be a holiday
--your gates must not be open
--your pockets must not be full when you catch your first scallop for the day (if I'm trying to find Pascal, I usually ignore any shadows that don't have the characteristic movement of scallops)

One other thing to be aware of. If you are too close to the shore, the ropes or the dock he won't show. I've had it happen to me. But if you are don't worry, keep catching them and when nothing is too close he'll pop up., I've had times I've caught 3 before he popped up. I guess there's not enough room for him if you are too close to something. Good luck.

Thank you. I'm sure that with all this help he will show up much more regularily. After more than three months of playing the game, and tons of diving, I've only seen him about four times. Following all these tips will really help.

This has been a helpful thread for me. I got two pirate items but none for AGES now. I just thought that scallops were not in my town anymore. I've been diving every night and nada for a couple of weeks at least. Grrr... Well, I'll try to be patient. I at least have the anchor and... uh... it's been so long I forgot!

I just found out that even with the police station you cannot find out if Pascal is in town or not. I love Cooper (that IS his name, right?) but I do with he'd pay more attention sometimes.

Police Station tells you about Joan, Redd, Saharah, Phinneas (but he shows up sometimes on Sunday after Joan leaves and I never go back in to see if they know about him then), Gracie Grace, Katrina & Pete.

^^The police station also tells you about Gulliver, albeit indirectly. He will say a storm is brewing off the coast and has washed some things ashore.
