I know this is old news now but I was unable to post this yesterday due to the forums being down.

So for anyone that didn't know:

On April 2nd, Nintendo released a new patch for Animal Crossing New Horizons.

This patch has addressed more issues than the last update.

Firstly, the patch has fixed a villager moving bug. Under certain conditions, some villagers didn’t move into vacant lots on your island even though they had been invited.

Just a word of warning here, if you had a villager which was migrating from another island to your island during this update; that villager may have become lost.

Continuing with villager plot issues, the bug where Tom Nook stopped asking the player to locate a new villager plot has been fixed.

Another glitch which should no longer exist is being unable to relocate homes or facilities once a player’s character was deleted.

The final issue addressed was a glitch during mystery island tours. Occasionally, players would be charged in nook miles tickets and bells when purchasing items from Wilbur.

The last line of the patch notes states that the update has also fixed other bugs but it doesn’t specify which.

I feel pretty lucky that I personally haven’t experienced any of these glitches. Have they affected your game? Are you pleased to see these issues addressed?

The whole Amiibo glitch really bummed me out because I couldn't buy my dreamies, but I'm so glad they were so quick to fix that and more! I applaud the devs!

There’s another upda that just went out, don’t know what that did

Just wondering-- how did the amiibo issue factor into the bugs? Did it have to do with them never moving into the vacant land?

Now, I could be wrong but I personally think this is what was happening:

Basically, if the villager moved out by normal means, things should work just fine. Everything data-wise attached was A-OK. Though some people reported the glitch in these cases as well.

However, if the villager was forced out with an Amiibo villager that was scanned in and asked to move in, when said Amiibo villager forced them out, it prematurely deleted the data tied to the villager being kicked out, but could still be adopted to another town. Once being adopted, the game couldn't figure out what to do, so it moved the villager in the same day, placing a 'null' villager into the plot.

Essentially, you adopted corrupted data. And 'null' data can be very annoying to fix. Very difficult to fix something technically not even there.
