People are annoyed at how ugly the beast is in the new Beauty and the Beast.

Bruh, a few years ago I saw the OG Beauty and the Beast in remastered 3D in theaters, and now they got this shizz, like I saw the whole "how it's being shot exactly the same" thing but honestly whats the point? Why do they have to re-make everything from my childhood and ultimately ruin it, or do horrible sequels and stuff that never live up to the original, honestly what's the point.

They're doing remakes on all the classics now it seems...I'm sure I've seen somewhere that they're doing a new Lion King? That was my favourite movie ever growing up, hope they don't ruin it

The beast is meant to be ugly .
The beast in the new remake is not ugly .
It's terrifying .

I didn't even know about the remake. Might have to see it, cuz why not? But for reals, he is literally a "beast". Sometimes I am just so surprised by how ridiculous people can be.

i'm never concerned with nostalgia or like the imaginary sanctity of old films supposedly ruined with remakes that people whine about, so i'll probably see it. i liked what disney did in the jungle book adaptation so i'm sure this will be fine too

but i haven't come across much complaints about the movie that were grounded in real analysis skills at least. it's mostly just amateur artists mad about stylistic choices that i've seen around.

it's weird the stockholm syndrome story is so beloved when i think about it

Honestly why do we need remakes of this again? I don't care about nostalgia value or whatever, but seeing the same story over and over again, each time with just a few fancy effects, or in this case in real life instead of animated, is obviously going to get boring. People want new things! New adventures! Creative stories to get into and unique characters to get to know and love! I was never a fan of Disney movies, they just weren't part of my childhood but I know they are beloved tales across the world, but did we really ask for a reboot? Wouldn't you rather have a new cast of characters in an environment that you haven't seen countless times before when you watched (and rewatched if you are a fan) that original movie? They have been remaking so many movies recently and tbh I haven't went to see one of them. I read up on the reviews and most of them just say the same, an overall decent movie, but still pretty pointless. In some cases when they try to remake movies they make the story even worse!
But I've gotten very off topic, this subject is about how stupid some people are. It's called Beauty and the BEAST, of course he is going to be "ugly!" That's the entire point of the story for goodness sake! How dumb are people these days? What would be the point of the story if Belle was falling in love with a handsome prince? That would take away from the moral (if there is a moral, I think there is anyway) and just be silly. Know that I actually think about it, the entire story is really weird. Why are we glorifying Stockholm syndrome again? Oh well, that's that I guess.

I'm actually kind of excited for this. Beauty and the Beast is tied as my favorite disney princess movie of all time along with Mulan. I also really love Emma Watson, (and I rarely care for actors/actresses so that's saying something.) I think she would make a perfect Belle just considering her personality as well. I also think the beast looks pretty damn amazing. He's exactly what I would expect him to be. I have high hopes for this. c:

I say let people enjoy it. As long as the original is preserved in some way, it shouldn't be a big deal.
