People that you thought you could trust in your town (rant).

Today I opened my gate for a nice user who wanted to adopt Teddy. While waiting for the nice user, one of my "friends" enters my town. I didn't mind at first, because I was just going to tell him that I was waiting for someone. I played with him before and I THOUGHT that he was a really nice guy. However, right when he entered my town from the train station, he ran off. Not even a greeting, he just ran away. Suspicious about his actions, I decide to follow him. I then spotted him trying to steal my hybrids! Man I should've screen shotted that! Right when I saw this happening i flicked my wifi switch off and immediately deleted him from my friends list. I wanted people to be aware of his actions so I gave him a wi-fi rating about what he had done at my town. Then he gives me a rating back saying that I was a jerk to him? What the?! I'm so mad, I don't want people thinking that I am a bad person!

Has something like this ever happened to you?

Geez, that's terrible. I have a huge friend list from trades, kinda wish the system was changed so you didn't have to be friends with someone to actually go about trading, but oh well, maybe next game.

I heard of someone who left their gate open and someone came and destroyed everything in their town, flowers, trees, bushes, all of the landscaping. Just gotta be careful...never had this happen to me, yet *hopefully I didn't jinx it* xD

I'm sorry this happened to you The thing is the exact same thing happened to me and another user when I went over to her town to adopt Cherry. The exact person you're talking about came over uninvited and just ran off without saying anything while I waited for the host to lead me to Cherry's house. It was a cycling town so he probably couldn't take anything valuable.

With that said... I would recommended that everyone delete friend codes after a trade. There's really no point in keeping them unless you plan to do more trades with them.

That's terrible! I don't see how people benefit from this. It's like in real life, when you rob a store. You keep robbing, become hated all over America and get thrown into jail. In ACNL, you become hated and no one is friends with you. People should really keep in mind this isn't a computer playing with you, it's a real person with their town.

About a month ago I had a similar thing happen to me.

This person who I thought I could trust was getting annoyed at one of my BFF's for simply talking. At first I shrugged it off but then he started to tell my BFF to shut up followed by vulgar stuff, so I called him out for it... Then he said 'You're siding with them? Revenge time!' And he started chopping my perfect orange tree's down and running over my hybrids. Fortunately from past experiences I knew to flip my Wi-fi switch. But, god... Some people. Such an immature brat.

I think it's silly that you can give out negative wifi reasons just because someone else gave you one. My boyfriend had an auction and at the last minute some dbag came in and overbid, and then never responded to any contact (and yes he had been online posting). So, obviously, my boyfriend gave him a negative wifi rating because he bought something he never intended to pay for. So then said user retaliated and gave my boyfriend a negative rating.

Yeah the user actually did it to a bunch of people, but for some reason the only negative wifi rating on his profile that stuck was my boyfriends. And the user was harassing my boyfriend to remove the negative rating (which I'm not sure but I don't think you can do?)

That really sucks! I hope I never run into that sort of situation, but I have heard too many horror stories of towns being destroyed by people because some idiot thinks it's fun. Don't worry about the rating. Revenge ratings are almost always going to happen by people like the one you mentioned. They were caught, so they're mad about it.
