Excuse me if this was already a thing...

One of the things bugging me about the villagers is the possibility to kick them out for newer ones. It seems like they and the ?mayor? will be building their homes from the ground up. You?ll be putting in work for them to get an actual house. Will they just up and leave it like that? Or will they never leave? I can?t see them making all that progress and then leaving.

Maybe they can only leave during the building process. Deadlines aren?t met and they aren?t happy. They pack up what they have and leave. But if you actually finish the home, they stay for good.

Lol idk... just speculation.

No way. Im sure theyll be able to leave whenever. If that was the case then you would be stuck with every villager that builds a house forever and youd come to a point where you cant cycle villagers in and out.

the hundreds of villagers we have in animal crossing, never moving out? i doubt it.

building friendships with your neighbors and seeing them move on (or stay) has always been a big part of animal crossing. i imagine there might be ways to influence your villagers to stay like in previous titles. if they ever let us keep someone forever it would probably be just one animal villager.

i would really like it if we could choose to boot people out without resorting to amiibo cards though.

Nintendo said that villagers can leave, but it up to them to make that decision. You apparently cant tell them to leave.

So just like ACNL then? Just ignore and hope for the best? I'm alright with it. I feel like having the power to just kick out and cycle through villagers so easily takes the fun out of it.

I'm pretty sure that villager will move in out just like they did in the previous games, even those two
random villagers that seems to be your 'best friends from the beginning. After all, they can't force the
player to have the smae villagers which stays forever on the island, especially if there are like 300+
villagers.

I hope being mean to them rather than just ignoring them would push them to moving out more while being nice to them would make them less likely to move out. I also hope that they can move out regardless of them being the newest villager.

No. Actually No....

In New Leaf you could talk to them every day, and they will still tell you once every 10 days that they are leaving.

It's better not to ignore them, this way you can get the "bling" (or w/e) and they run up to you to tell you.

I believe villagers will still be able to move out, even the first two villagers on your island that you start with. Doesn't make any sense that they would be permanent. If they were, a lot of people would probably be unhappy. I don't mind who is on my island, but it would be nice to switch things up every now and then and get new villagers.
