Most dive creatures are fairly easy to grab, even if they have a tendency to move around a bit. But some--namely those of the crab variety--can be rather vexing. What I typically do for those is to try to wrangle it up by the netting on the outer perimeters and try to grab it while it's still in the process of turning around. But this is so much easier said than done, and with the play area being as wide as it is, this can prove to be time-consuming even if you do manage to master it.

Do you have any particular strategies for dealing with the faster dive creatures?

Like mermaidshelf said, I just recently found out sneaking up to fast creatures is way more effective than chasing them around and trying to corner them. Just swim on top of them and then dive, and you should only have to press A once or twice to catch them if they start trying to get away.

Ooh, very interesting. I'll have to try that myself when March hits; I'm not looking forward to chasing the spider crab, and that's the last speedy one I need to catch lol

For fast swimmers, I stop pressing A and sneak up on them using only the control stick. Once I'm over them, I start pressing A quickly and diving. Now I never have to chase those really fast creatures.

I would have never even thought to have tried something like that, but it really works a charm. Much less headache-inducing than than hoping to corner them at the edges. Thank you!
