where i'm from, a lot of ppl say 'pet' & 'flower' as a local thing - usually oldies looking after me lol

me and my SO say honey a lot - i don't cope well when receiving compliments even tho it's nice to have reassurance LOL

i like them! i think it very much depends on the specific pet name and the specific scenario, but on the whole i don't have an issue with them

I LOVE pet names T^T My bf calls me 'sweet pea'! I love calling him all sorts of things, but there are some he doesn't like, so I've learned what he likes/what he doesn't. I love being called a loooot of things. Angel, princess, baby, honey, etc. I love pet names.

I also have a baaad habit of calling all of my friends 'bae'. LMAO. I just think it's funny.

I think most of the time, pet names kind of creep me out. I worry about the person’s intentions and stuff, I think I read too deeply into it I can only deal with pet names from people I know really well, or family.

I like some of them, though i dont really like babe at all, and me and my boyfriend both agree on that matter thankfully lol. Idk some names just dont feel that natural even though they can be cute, im torn with a lot of them. Its funny i feel like i accept them more from older ladies i work with that call me sweetheart or something

I like them! I'm not one to use them with strangers cause I know everyone feels differently about them, but I do think it's sweet when like a woman who helps me calls me babe. I use them with certain friends. More than anything though I love using them with my girlfriend and when she uses them with me. I will use them all and all the variations and also just her name all the time jdksjfks

I only really like it when it's from someone I've already known for a while. Otherwise I prefer people referring to me by my username.

I generally don't like them, like if someone my age I am not close with (and I mean very close) I hate it. But if that old lady at the supermarket asks "do you need any help, hon?" or that sweet old grandpa at church says "how are you doing, chicken?" my soul is sold to them.

It's kind of strange that I'm okay with it because I've had weird, to say the least, experiences with old ladies (like them kissing the back of my neck randomly even when I have no hecking idea who they are ), but old women who work at shops are always really nice and funny. So I don't mind if they call me pet names because that's just the way they talk to everyone.

It depends who, I usually dont like it, but my late boyfriend called me potato and I thought it was funny. Anybody else calling me babe, honey etc makes my skin crawl somehow. I'm not sure I used some myself on people, on my pets yes, all the time, but a boyfriend? Probably just mister.

I really do not like most pet names. I'd rather people just use my name! Sometimes they come off as creepy and sometimes it's obviously well-intentioned, but I'm not much of a fan either way.

Occasionally my partner and I will call each other "my love." That's the only one that doesn't weird me out, I think because I am very literal, and that is a very literal pet name. That person is my love. They are definitely not a baby or a honey, haha, and neither am I. But even then, the vast majority of the time we just call each other by our names.

i love love love when boyfriends make up/use pet names for me, i think it's super cute and i tend to do the same for them. i don't really mind pet names in non-romantic relationships either so long as i like the person, and even with strangers it doesn't bother me unless their intent is clearly to be condescending or a creep.
