One of the least observed time zones - GMT-2, or Mid-Atlantic time. The only places that observe this time zone year-round are thinly-populated. It’s more of a time zone you’ll pass by if you’re going to America from Europe and vice versa.

It’s really obvious that the Switch successor is on the way rn and I kind of want to cash out my console/games but I don’t want to give up my island or CTR. I really hope the next console not only has BC but way more durable hardware, the Switch feels so flimsy it discourages me from using it.

also, i should be more accepting that i forget things. I really try not to because the people closest to me forget really basic things but screw it… i gotta do it so i can be able to focus

Just one question. Why do newer video game soundtracks seem weaker and forgettable, while those Nintendo 64 soundtracks are stronger and unforgettable? Look at Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Diddy Kong Racing, and Paper Mario 64. Even Pokémon Stadium 1 has a couple of memorable soundtracks.

I feel like more devs now go for ambient tracks because of dynamic music becoming much much more of a thing (and that probably happened partly because of disc space)

The Wii and DS music are also super iconic especially the Wii shop theme and the Mii theme.
  • Mario kart Wii's ost is super iconic too with the best menu theme of any Mario kart.
  • Super Mario Galaxy has Gusty garden galaxy.
  • Pokemon Diamond, pearl, and platinum has Cynthia's battle theme.
  • And Pokemon black and white definitely has an awesome soundtrack too especially the Ghetsis battle theme.
Even the Wii and DS era have iconic music to go by.

If we’re talking about Pokémon games, the generation with the best soundtrack is Gen 1 (as well as Gen 7 in case of Pokémon Let’s Go). Though Gen 9 has defied the long-running trend that soundtrack in Pokémon is getting weaker and forgettable (think: Cabo Poco and Poco Path, as well as the gym leader battle on the last Pokémon).

I do agree with the Generation 9 being mostly forgettable though except Area Zero and the Professor final battle theme which were both composed by Toby Fox. (To it's credit, it's still a bit memorable on par of older Pokemon boss themes)

Generation 9 for the most part is lackluster both in gameplay, art and story direction, and the ost. Especially when modern Pokemon games are just rushed to meet up the holiday season.

i just still think gen 4 and 5 Pokemon music is still peak, in my opinion.

Honestly I think gen 9 has the best mon designs ever (maybe other than g7) so I’ll have to disagree on the art, unless you mean the environments which I would agree the overworld and rendering styles are very bland, but the mon and character designs are great

Feels like an unpopular opinion to say gen 9 has the best designs, but saying that about literally any gen everyone will have different opinions lol

tbh part of me wishes they kept the outlines, but at least it’s not the weird g8 thing anymore where they have really thin outlines as if they wanted to get rid of them but weren’t commited

Generation 9 do have some good designs for sure, but the 3d models looked extremely unfinished and doesn't do the character design justice (Iono looks pretty iconic and Ceruledge actually looks cool).

the 2d illustrations looked ten times better than the 3d rendering. It's really sad because they look like they have lots of potential.

it would be better if they stick to cartoon or anime-esque art style rather than making them look a bit realistic with bulging facial features and all.

And yeah, there's a couple of gen 7 pokemon I actually like (Lurantis, Decidueye, Primarina, Lunala, just to name a few.)

Here’s what I think of the species of each generation:
  • Gen 2 has the best species by average, some for species design, others for competition. Just the Hoppip family alone would make this the best. Even if it weren’t for the Hoppips, it still had Quagsire, Chinchou, Blissey, Celebi, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and the best of the Eevolutions competitive-wise.
  • Gen 1 is the classic. It’s synonymous with Pokémon. Several of my favorites are part of this generation (including Vulpix and Oddish).
  • Gen 7 has the best lineup of starters, best legendary Pokémon, best mythical Pokémon, and a handful of other species that I loved. The only ones I didn’t like were the Yungoos family, Bruxish, Oricorio (especially the pom style), and the Crabrawler family.
  • Gen 9 would take the prize for being the second-best generation of the 21st century (first two were 20th century). Although my favorite Pokémon from the Paldea region are obviously those Johto creatures, my favorite new ones were Glimmora, Arboliva, Tinkaton, Gholdengo, and Orthworm. And the designs were a strong improvement from the previous generation.
  • Gen 5 has a lot of ugly designs and Pokémon that I want to forget. But if I like some Unova Pokémon, it’s a species that I REALLY like, such as Chandelure and Whimsicott.
  • Gen 4 is okay at best. The one thing this generation is lacking is an ugly Pokémon that I hate. But the designs aren’t top-tier in my opinion.
  • Gen 6 is mostly lackluster and forgettable. There were a few that I liked, but that’s pretty much it.
  • Gen 3 suffers one major problem - it doesn’t have a species that I truly love. My favorite Pokémon from this generation is Jirachi, and that’s only a mythical. Even Gen 8 had a Pokémon or two that I loved.
  • Gen 8 has the worst designs out of all Pokémon generations. I’ll take Alcremie (all forms) and Corviknight, and leave the rest behind.

i don't know if this is just my delusional brain talking but. building a small car out of cardboard would be cool right?? i don't even know where to start and i really need to focus on other things right now but... cardboard car.

It’s honestly just really obvious that GameFreak still aren’t used to designing for 3D models but I think they got much better at it this generation. I saw a post somewhere pointing out how you see Glimmora as a flower in the overworld and that’s something that otherwise only really existed with Voltorb/Electrode and Foongus/Amoongus and maybe some other obscure thing I forgot? Oh right the rock smash Pokemon. But still Glimmora like that passes as a little unique asset trap thing, which is a good use of 3D space because it fleshes out the overworld. If they did more of that in the future I’d love to see it.

btw I haven’t played gen 8 or 9 so sorry if I get some details here wrong lol but I watched them plenty. I really hope I’m not misremembering the Glimmora thing because iirc doesn’t it stay on rocks as a flower and then you actually see it animate out of that?

And to elaborate on my point with how they don’t know how to design for 3D models they felt truly desparate with some of the gen 8 designs. I unapologetically think that gen has the worst designs ever, and there’s no contest to me there, but pretty much every legendary from that gen demonstrates this issue to me. Eternatus base form is the worst, it just looks like a mess of triangles and it reminds me of Knack on the PS4. Now if it were a 2D gen I think they either wouldn’t have attempted a design like that, or parts of it would have been stripped away and it would be more elegant. Then again we have White Kyurem and they’re pretty over-designed, but to be fair to that one, it was also a fusion of two legendaries so I can see why they would accidentally push it too far.

Gen 6 felt like they wanted to keep most of the designs simple (and I’m down for it there) and then again 7 had the UBs which I kinda feel they pushed that far design-wise because they had 3D and they just all look awesome so idk lol maybe its just a common gen 8 flop.

I’m not gonna write my full thoughts but I’ll rank the gens design-wise for me. 7=9 > 3 > 4 > 1 > 5 > 2 >> 8 (this does not represent my opinions on the games or gens as a whole etc only the mon designs)

Three weeks after I made a post here that got deleted by the staff, I now don’t see what was problematic with that post about my personal desires. In fact, I never intended to write it with malice. I wasn’t even breaking the rules. But some users felt uncomfortable with the post and reported it, and the staff agreed with them and deleted it. I won’t post it again after getting it deleted, but why does it make some people uncomfortable?

This is what I've dealt with in the past when I went back by SoraFan23. Some people didn't like my opinions of what I said about ACNH during the time when it was out. Lets just say most of 2020 was filled with a lot of debates and I got so many warnings. It damaged me mentally and I had to take a huge hiatus from the site. So I relate to what you've been dealing with.

I wonder if the Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door remake added some cool new features.

If I know something is insensitive or offensive (like stereotypes, 9/11 jokes, words or phrases that are inappropriate during a particular situation, or words or phrases that mock fandoms), then I would refrain from saying it. But the post that got deleted a while ago wasn’t one of these. In fact, I thought of saying it for a while. And I don’t think whatever I said was insensitive.

What I said that got deleted was more about my fashion preferences on others (including characters I make), and how I found my niche since the days of ACNL. I didn’t say it to be mean or anti-progressive. I don’t think saying stuff like that is offensive. But it got reported and deleted, and I speculate that some users have blocked me because of that post.

Since it got deleted by the mods for that reason, I’m not going to repeat this behavior. If I get warned once, infraction or not, then I should stop there.

I once made a sensitive topic post and lets just say it didn't go over so well. I am pretty sure after when I made that I got in trouble and got blocked by some people too. I don't even want to say what it is.

Kids content nowadays is so ****. I remember the good old days when there were actually good shows that could appeal to kids without being awful. Shows that even an adult could enjoy. Nowadays, kids content in general is just bad because people just think if a show is really annoying and stupid kids will like it. Even shows that used to be good are like that now, like SpongeBob. And then there's also Cocomelon and just a lot of crappy content.

I sound like such a boomer and I'm not even that old.
