It's been oddly nice coming back to TBT. I had stopped seriously being on TBT around 2009 or 2010 because I was a Silly Little Guy and used to be a troll. I dunno why I decided to check on it - maybe a conversation or something. But, I've actually found TBT is kind of a cute little corner of the internet that feels like it's from a different time. This has also coincided with me using social media less, but now I'm kind of getting my fix through the forums, lol. It's kind of nice though - forums have a slower pace to them. Social media (especially twitter or reels/tiktoks) feel so fast. Like, if I spend too much time on Tiktok, my brain feels different afterwards. I feel like it's bad for your health. We are not meant to digest that much information that quickly.
A big component to having a Betta in a community tank is the type of fish you choose and having adequate plants/hiding spots for the Betta. You’ll want more peaceful fish in the tank that hang out on the bottom or mid level of the tank. A small group of tetras can work with a Betta, corydoras, bristlenose pleco - but not fish that are “nippy” (rummy nose tetra). And obviously, you’d want at least a 20 gal or larger to accommodate all these fish.
Sorry if I’m telling you stuff you already know, but just wanted to contribute to the fish chat!
