planting a palm tree help!

Hi i have tried unsuccessfully 4 times to plant and grow a palm tree, i put it by the beach not where the water hits it right? Can someone please help??? Pictures would be AWSOME!!! THANKS :gyroiddance:

yeah just plant it by the water, but still in the soil not in the sand and it should grow.

Ya I have been reading on here as a guest for a while but after wasting four good coconuts I thought it was time to consult the experts!

I heard anywhere within 7 spaces of the beach will grow coconuts, as long as it's not one of the fabled deadzones. I've successfully planted a few toward the back of the beach houses, but I've also had a few die. If one dies, make sure not to plant more in the same spot.

i heard the same thing and i had been spreading this around... but i recently realized in a friend's town that you can plant a coconut tree in any of the bottom acres (about 13 to 14 spaces away from the ocean) and they will grow.

the 7 place thing was a lie. waahhhh!!! =*(

I will still limit mine to right next to the beach with only a few deeper inland. I'd rather plant trees worth 1500 bells than only 1000 bells.

... I have heard it is just the lower half of the village... to plant coconut trees that is... But I normally just plant them right next to the beach...

I find coconuts annoying... they mess me up when I am gathering fruit... cause there is two of them on the tree instead of three haha...

When you say you make 2-5 mill a week on turnips, is that how much you actually profit, or is that how much you get from selling them? And how much do you spend on turnips every week?

Also, I gotta get my money from somewhere. Every time I save up a million, something seems to appear that requires me spending it. The royal crown showed up the day after my account hit 1.3 mill, so there went all that. Then I saved up for the windmill, and there went my next mill.

Anyway, my beach still looks nice. It's lined with coconut trees and flowers. I think it looks sort of ridiculous when it's snowing to see all the coconut trees, but oh well.

my first week i ever did turnips, i spent 500,000 and bought turnips for 94, and then a friend of mine (animalcrossing123) allowed me to sell my turnips in his town. his nook was asking for them for 584 each. i made about 2,700,000 that week back.

the next week, i spent 1,000,000 and sold them in joe's town, and made about 4,000,000 back.

this week i've spent another 1,000,000 and just waiting for my nook to give me a good offer. :/

just today i cut all of my trees down in the last acre towards the ocean because today i finally got my golden watering can. i've replanted a lot of coconut trees, and i probably won't even pick them when they have coconuts because i'm working on my next operation... Operation: grass restoration, lol.
