Planting Orchards

Just to point something out, you don't need to go on wifi to get foreign fruit. That's the biggest misconception.

You usually get a foreign fruit in the mail if you send a native fruit to a villager and I belive on one day (not sure which one) you get a fruit in the mail from your mom.

I was going to point that out.
I read it ONM (Official Nintendo Magazine) and I tried it and it worked!
I love ONM :D

Awesome, thanks for sharing this piece of information.

When I tried to do that, my neighbors just sent me furniture and wallpapers back. 2 weeks of sending 10 fruits every day and no foreign fruit. I finally got tired of waiting and just went online for the fruit.

Indeed, a villager sent me a coconut once.
But it died.
And that doesn't always happen. 90% of the time they send you some useless item that I go and sell to Nook.

While there's no specific statistic, the guide says you HAVE to go online. You don't have to go online, but it's usually much easier to go online.

Lol. I told my friend if he got oranges (my native fruit) THEN RESTART THE GAME! He got peaches on his first try, so we trade fruit a lot.

I only have pears because I restarted, I have other fruits but I haven't planted them yet.

I know the last post for this was a HECK of a long time ago but, how do you replant a tree if it fails growing? I know you said put fruit next to it or something, but I don't understand.

So, in a few days, hopefully all your trees will grow. You'll have a nice, spaced out, organized orchard. In the event one baby tree fails to grow, then don't fret -- once all the others are done growing, you can just replant them with the fruit next to it.
Can someone help me with this? Say I plant an Orchard, like this;

TXTXTXT
XXXXXXX
XXXXXXX
TXTXFXT

T = tree
X = space
F = failing to grow tree

Is there a way to get a tree growing in a place where a tree fails to grow?

EDIT: Sorry for double post, computer lagged.

This works for me everytime....

Send mail to various neighbors with the word Friend 3 times on separate lines like so....

Friend
Friend
Friend

be sure to attach one of your native fruits to the letter. This works for me everytime.

Such a great guide! I've been wanting to plant an orchard, and this has helped quite a lot :)
