Knowing PETA, this can’t be a joke. This is real.

I like seeing their hilarious takes on video games. I played their parodies as a kid, not really because I cared about going vegan or anything(I was and still am a meat eater, although since kids have black and white views on the world I didn’t realize at the time that PETA was a bad organization and didn’t really care about animals, perhaps it’s a good thing their messages didn’t persuade my young self at the time), but because they were fun. Anyone remember Pokémon Black and Blue? Or Super Chick Sisters?

Going to look at the article now. This shall be a fun read.

(And before anyone says “the characters in Animal Crossing don’t eat fish”, it’s heavily implied in Desert Island Escape that the characters eat fish in addition to fruit and honey(an animal product if you count bugs as animals), as fish count towards your food amount, and if you run out of food you lose the game. The characters eat a serving of food every night, but it’s only ever displayed as a leaf so we’ll never know for certain, though. If spin-off material doesn’t count, then Chip appears to eat fish, although he isn’t in New Horizons so I guess that isn’t a fair argument.)

Blather's tent is in the background of one picture, and they have the ladder, so they have had to donate at least 20 things to the Museum. Even if Blathers got 15 fossils to progress the plot, that means that they have had to donate 5 Fish/Bugs to Nook to get to that point. And they are telling people not to catch bugs/fish.
