So stealing people's POKéMON is?
I glare at him more.
He gives me the DEVON GOODS.
Oh, yeah.
The reason I originally came here.
I shove them in my BACKPACK.
The TEAM AQUA GRUNT pushes me out of the way as he runs out of the TUNNEL.
I'm standing in front of PEEKO now, and then the OLD MAN from the entrance to the TUNNEL comes and shoves me back to where I was.
He then tells me that PEEKO owes her life to me.
He asks me what my name is.
Silence ensues.
WHAT
I never said anything!
I get confused really quick.
He walks away after saying something I must've toned out.
Oh well.
So I get out of the TUNNEL, and head back west, making sure to say hi to JOSE on my way to RUSTBORO.
And then the DEVON RESEARCHER stops me, and gives me a GREAT BALL.
Another one.
He doesn't even take the GOODS, just tells me to follow him. So, I do.
Except, there isn't much following to do.
We magically transport to the top floor of the big building, the one that actually has a shadow.
At the top of the stairs on the red-carpeted floor, he explains to me where we are, why I',m here, how thankful he is to me, and that he wants me to deliver the GOODS for him, to SLATEPORT. After all, what if TEAM AQUA shows up again?
He shudders.
He then goes to the other side of the floor. The east side.
He disappears for all of three milliseconds, then comes back.
OH NO WHAT DID I DO
I BET HE THINKS THAT I WAS THE ONE WHO STOLE PEEKO AND THE GOODS AND OH CRAP I'M SO DEAD
I walk over to where he leads me.
"I just got word about you!
You saved our staff once, but twice!"
Heh, both of the situations were caused by him being stupid...
He asks me to stop off in DEWFORD TOWN on my way to SLATEPORT.
Good, because I was going to head that way anyways; the second GYM is that way.
He hands me a LETTER addressed to a person named STEVEN STONE, who I assume is his son.
I shove that in the same BACKPACK POCKET I did the GOODS.
MR. STONE then hands me a POKéNAV, short for POKéMON NAVIGATOR.
So like the POKéGEAR I had back in JOHTO. It allows me to do all the same things except for listen to a RADIO, but I can't call people either.
The POKéGEAR was better.
I check the MAP and quickly find DEWFORD.
But where is SLATEPO--
Oh, nevermind.
I head out of the building (walking down tWO WHOLE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS LIKE WHAT A WASTE OF TIME) and back out into RUSTBORO CITY.
I start pacing around in circles.
i have no idea how to get across the sea.
I at least need to get a visual of where it is I need to cross, I guess...
I cringe every time I see a building without a shadow.
I get stopped on my way out of the city by...
...everyone's favorite TORCHIC TRAINER!
All she tells me is that MR. BRINEY was once a revered seafarer instead of battling me.
A light bulb goes off in my head.
I head back into PETALBURG WOODS.
MIA glares at me as she says this.
I will never admit it to anyone, but she scares the heck out of me.
I get TM09 from a random guy near the northern entrance to PETALBURG WOODS. This contains BULLET SEED, so I decide to teach it to my bruh.
The one that now uses STUN SPORE when NATURE POWER is used for whatever reason.
I replace GROWL with BULLET SEED.
I now head into PETALBURG WOODS.
I jump off the ledges on my way down.
Wow, that was easy.
I head out the southern exit from PETALBURG WOODS.
MR. BRINEY's COTTAGE is now on the horizon.
I enter his cottage.
He is chasing his WINGULL around his table.
I stop his insolence and command that he take me to DEWFORD.
So he does, with his boat which probably hasn't been used for thirty years.
That was really, really quick.
He bids me farewell, telling me that I should be off to deliver the LETTER to STEVEN.
Something tells me I should head north, to GRANITE CAVE.
With a name like STEVEN STONE, wouldn't you hang out in a place like that?
I head into GRANITE CAVE, and a HIKER right near the entrance warns me that it gets real dark ahead. He gives me HM05 FLASH, also saying that STEVEN came through earlier. My hunch was right! However, I need the GYM BADGE in order to use FLASH.
I decide not to heed his warnings and continue into the darkness below.
It's really dark down here.
Ugh.

The mega-grind will be done in Granite Cave, mainly because I just remember how weak my Pokémon are compared to Brawly's.
Should I catch a Pokémon in here?
