I've come to a point where I'm almost finished Ultra Moon. I haven't done 100% of everything but I'm almost done doing the things I want to do. I remembered that when I bought my 3DS it came with Pokemon Y. I started it & played for like a week and then got ACNL and haven't looked back. I was wondering if people are still playing Y so that if I did want to play it there'd be people to trade with. I also recently got Yo Kai Watch 2 so I'm considering starting that. Thanks!

I’m pretty sure the online service is still available for Pokemon X, Pokemon Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby, and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire right now. Not sure how actively people trade on those games, however. I think wonder trading still happens on them and there’s still people to trade with, but a good portion of people have moved over to trading in gen 7. Maybe someone else can clarify this.
I’ve been playing X and ORAS. I can say, trading is still widely done. I got a shiny legendary on Wonder trade once, and I also got a fair trade on gts to get a wailmer. It is kind of dead, but not really. I will say ORAS is a bit more active than X.

I'm hoping to have time to get back into playing X and Y, I just find the walking controls a bit irritating once you get the skates.

Thank you all for replying! I'm still on the fence about starting Y since I do have a couple of other games I could start instead. I think my problem is that I've enjoyed playing UM so much that I don't want to really stop playing it. I do have a few things I'm finishing up but other than starting to hunt for shiny Pokemon I'm running low on things to do.

I still play my Y version from time to time to shiny hunt. I wouldn't mind trading if you ended up starting sometime down the line.
That's the same with me. I've been sorta focusing on breeding the right pokemon and shinies. It seems easier in pokemon moon hence why I'm still on it, but there are some things that are drawing me to pokemon X and Y :3
Man now I wanna get a gen 6 game again. Haven't played x/y specifically in a very long time since they messed up a lot bad but I have to say why did they have to dump PSS fron gen 6 for that dumb plaza thing?? Like who cares about Plaza really..? I mean the friendship caf? is useful but honestly...no.
I'm trying to have a living Dex of Ghost Pokemon so I'm breeding the ones I still need. Plus I'm also trying to get my Plaza to 100 since I noticed it's at like 97 already. I think the only other things I'd like to do are get my "Championship" team Pokemon all up to Level 100 & have Rayquaza learn Dragon Meteor. After I'm done those few things I'll need to move on to either Y or Yo-Kai Watch Psychic Spectre.

Also, yeah found a somewhat cheap Y copy today, traded in a game and paid the rest with money. I can cornfirm the WT/GTS etc. is very much actice, got a shiny heatran and some other cool beans earlier
lol! I had to laugh that you got yourself Y today after saying yesterday you wanted to play a Gen 6 game again. I'm not really a big fan of the Plaza but 'm so close to having it at 100 that I feel like I might as well get it there. A Shiny Heatran - nice!

I started Y & played for about a week before ACNL arrived and I became a devotee. lol! I barely started the story in Y. If I had a Switch I'd be playing one of the Let's Go Pokemon games for sure! Probably Pikachu since my son used to watch the original TV show. If I get a Switch next year with the new AC game I'm hoping to get a Let's Go game as well.

yes, i can confirm that the community is not dead there, pokemon x was the first real pokemon game i played, and its still as active as when i got it 2 years ago (which is pretty active)

Hello! I have both those games and still play! mostly pokemon but, I could help with yokai stuff if needed! just gotta brush up on whats what again cause it's been awhile..
Haha yeah I just had to get either gen 6 game when I wrote that. And yeah I love the easy goin' PSS when you just flip a few buttons and you can trade. Also you could choose from more fun questions and fill out, and you could write your own messages. I suppose along with the kid-friendly approach they had to remove that in gen 7 *rolls eye to no end*.

I always hear people saying living dex, but never understood what it means. Which ghost pokemon do you need~?
My Plaza is about level 50 something, if you need help with having good facilities, let me know, most of mine are 5 stars. I wanna try battling against people just to see how I can handle it XD

Honestly I'll save my rant about Let's Go for some angry online forum (kidding), but even despite that, the 3DS Pok?mon games are still very, very active. I've played Pok?mon Y to the point where I have dialogue memorized, probably because it's a relatively short game compared to the painstakingly long SuMo. But yeah, it's still going strong, though when a proper Pok?mon Switch comes out I bet the 3DS community will go straight down the toilet.
I'm sorry for not replying sooner to you all. I was busy with the holiday and forgot to check this thread.

I didn't know what a living dex was either. I asked a very patient and kind member on here and he explained it to me. A living dex is where you have 1 of every Pokemon including their evolutions (except Mega Evolutions). Some people also go to the extent of having every color of Minior and every size of Pumpkaboo/Gougheist as well. Right now I've got almost all the Ghost type. There are a 3 or 4 I need to evolve and 2 that I need to trade to evolve and then I'll have every form of every Ghost Pokemon.
Thank you for the offer of the Plaza help! Not all of my facilities are 5 star but I did manage to get my Plaza to Level 100. Now I'm taking a break from the Plaza for a bit. To be honest, I've never battled against someone myself. I didn't think I'd be much fun to battle since I don't know much about EV, IVs and things like that.
