if i terraform and create a brand new pond, and i attach a waterfall to it, does the pond still have the title of pond? or does the waterfall change it so that it isnt technically a pond anymore?

as long as you don't connect it to the river or ocean then i'm pretty sure it's still considered a pond

Any body of water with a waterfall attached to it anywhere will only spawn river fish. It doesn't matter if they are connected to anything else. You can always test for a river versus a pond by casting your fishing rod into it and if the bobber moves it's a river and if it doesn't move it's a pond.

and just to add, if you're adding it to the TOP of the waterfall it has the chance of the Cliffside Pond (River) fish but will mostly just have regular river fish, something that took me a bit to find out because my luck for Cliffside Pond was terrible.

Red Cat was right about this! i tried fishing it last night and the only fish that it spawned was a crucian carp so i came back this morning and looked at the water itself and the water was moving like it does in the rivers. the pond that i created was the perfect pond size, and i added a two tiered waterfall to it *a tiny one* and that changed its dynamic to Not Pond and to River. its unfortunate because i dont have all the pond fish yet, and i did enjoy how it looked.
thank you all for helping me with this! :D
