I always overlooked Rodney in ACNL... but then I saw him in today's direct and I kind of sort of fell in love? *nervous sweating bc i always end up liking smug characters*
Started drawing this without even knowing anything abt him aside from his personality but then I saw his house and figured the way i portrayed him was probably ok and not too out of character T_T;; i hope... ?

Finished commission!
I'm gonna touch up the colors to make it more vibrant before sending it off -o-)/ and also let my eyes rest from looking at it for a while to see what needs to be changed.

The reason why i use different colors for my sketch is so that i can easily make adjustments, since everything is on different layers.
The hair, face, cheek, body, clothes are on separate layers and set to different colors so that its easy to differentiate. I use CLIP and I can easily use the select layer tool to easily navigate between each object without having to "find" what layer anything is on.
(kind of got inspired by seeing sketches for 2d animators, since i noticed they used dif colors to mark where things should be highlighted or shaded)

To add, I also change a layer to a color of my choice (in the layer property options)
So theres no need to actually switch between a bunch of colors lmao. I just use black the entire time when sketching ovo)b

btw, this two drawings were done in different time period, so the colours of the character was a bit different, just feel free to use some similar colours, cause I am not too strict with the colours, lol
