Wouldn't it be cool if the next game was an HD remake of Population Growing for the Wii U but with more features such as:

1. Character customization that's on par with New Leaf. (Although the funny looking hats your characters wore in Population Growing should be an item that you start off with rather than something only accessed by patterns)

2. Online Play.

3. Laying patterns on the ground.

4. More emphasis on flowers.

5. Downloadable Content like in City Folk and New Leaf.

6. Maybe make the island a combination of Population Growing's and New Leaf's where you could take your own items and have an islander but also have tours and medals.

7. More house customization.

8. Public Works Projects, although more similar to e+'s way of doing it where you're not the mayor but they let yo do it anyway.

9. The original soundtrack, maybe even remixed.

10. Some features from e+ should be added too, such as the Reset Center being found under a rock, being able to open Nook's shop after closing by banging it with a shovel, etc.

11. Anything that required a GBA in the original game should require a 3DS/2DS in the remake, i.e. the island and being able to make patterns for free at Able's, although this time it should be Pro Patterns for free because you can already make regular patterns for free now. And the virtual pet simulator for the island on your GBA should come back too, but as downloadable software that you get for free when visiting the island. Downloadable because you could save and re-visit when not connected to the Wii U. (Unlike the GBA one where you had to keep the console on otherwise you'd have to go back to the Island)

12. Being able to read QR codes with the GamePad. (Or 3DS if you were to play with the GCN controller)

13. And of course, GameCube Adapter support.

Everything else should be just like the original, but in HD. So how about it? Could someone pitch this idea to Nintendo or maybe even Animal Crossing's development team? I'd love to hear what they say.

Uh no. Animal Crossing games aren't that different from each other, so a remake seems, I dunno? Useless? Like a waste of time? The series is better off moving forward. I'd rather a wii u animal crossing like new leaf with better, and more holidays/events, more varied npc text, a better placement system, etc.

No, I don't think so. For a Wii U Animal Crossing, there should just be a totally different one. There have been too many changes to the game since Population Growing that I don't think there should really be a remake of it.

Instead of remaking it, they should just take some of it's features and put it in the next game (balls, shop raffles, dock and lilypads at the lake).

I missed the first game. You could wake up Tom Nook? Talk about LOL!

The original game had acres and arguably the best music in the series. I at least wish the composer would go back to his original style of music.

It sounds more like you want a mod of New Leaf to make it more like AC:GC. If an HD remake were to come out, all they'd need would be Amiibo instead of ereader, and a 3DS in place of GBA. After that, just spruce up the textures and allow online play through Miiverse and it's done.

Why not just make a new Animal Crossing game, and add features from the first instalment into it? And, I'll take this opportunity to say that I do not want another Animal Crossing game so soon.

If you take the original Animal Crossing and add all those features and bring it to the WiiU, it might as well just be a new game. Which would be cool to have in the future.

What everyone else said. Also I don't want another game until at least maybe summer next year at the earliest. I'm still not done perfecting my New Leaf town yet, I still have a few dreamies and PWPs left!
