With Golden Week approaching fast, I feel that we might get some information about ScarVio really soon...like this gen's new gimmick

Ever since gen 6, Pokemon has had a gimmick to market a new gen. Gen 6 was Megas, gen 7 was Z-moves, and gen 8 was Kaiju pokemon.

I think Gen 9's gimmick is type change. All of the types were featured in the city in the reveal trailer. Maybe certain Pokemon have the ability to change their type for a certain amount of time. This would be different from regional mons. The type changing mons would be the regular forms, except the new gimmick would allow them to have a new pre-determined typing for the duration of battle.

What gimmick or new features would you want for ScarVio?

I mean, maybe something like a "spectrum" or color based gimmick. Since the "red/violet" thing are on opposite sides of the spectrum. So maybe there is a device that you shine on the mon and it'll change typing and color patterns under the infrared and ultraviolet light. Like maybe the bad guys use lights in the battlefield to alter the dynamics of combat and maybe make things you can't see in regular play visible?

It'll be the Gigantodestroyoua-moves! They're moves that OHKO the opposing Pokemon, but they can only be used once. They're guaranteed to hit, however.

Lmao, just joking. I'm not sure to be honest, but the changing of types sounds interesting.

Hmm....if I had to take a wild guess I would say it would be that the new gimmick is "Your Pokemon can now learn up to 6 moves" For the longest time we've always been stuck with 4 moves. I think its time they make an upgrade to where you can have 2 additional moves learned to help you win Pokemon battles. For me my kid self was like "You know I should have all 4 attacking moves" It was until I found out years later that if you have "Status" move conditions they can be helpful, but sometimes I find myself having a hard time figuring out which one is the best and which one to keep.

I mean if they were to go down that route it would change the way people think and battle with Pokemon. I mean this is a bold predication and it may sound outlandish but I think this could be something they could do. I mean its not like they did other crazy gimmicks like Z Moves from Sun/Moon and Dynamax from Sword/Shield.

I read a 'leak' somewhere that said this was the case...and I really hope not.

Meh...most "leaks" are just attention grabbers, 15 minutes of fame. I'm predicting type change because that gimmick would put less strain on the national dex, which is approaching 1,000. Even though regional forms might not be new Pokemon for some people because they're just rehashed versions of older mons, they are technically new in terms of marketing. I would also rather have new Pokemon rather than type change or regionals, but GF is lazy and deadline driven because of the Pokemon machine so churning out 100+ new mons is less likely than a "Delta pokemon" gimmick. I hope I'm wrong though.

Also going off the light theme from the titles, I'm going to bet that these will be the games to have a second type of "alternate-colored Pokémon", separate from normal shinies. Either some sort of ultra-rare alternate color in addition to the regular shiny (maybe even with some sort of stat boosts?), or possibly a more common variant that's easier to find than the shiny version. Alternatively, maybe some sort of way to cosmetically change your Pokémon's color scheme (within a few limited options, so you can't just dye your Pokémon into its shiny colors). Shiny Pokémon seem to have gotten more notice both from fans and the franchise in recent years, so I'm wondering if they might try to tap into that aspect more.
