Megas are definitely my favorite of the gimmicks listed above. Having some crazy fourth evolution for Pokémon we all grew up knowing was quite a change at the time. It was really weird that game freak decided to make the lore of mega evolving that it is painful for the Pokémon, especially with how the series is usually about fostering a good relationship between trainers and Pokémon. I never thought I would miss mega evolutions as much as I do. They introduced a lot of cool designs that just aren't accessible anymore in the new games and it's unfortunate. Especially when it comes to gengar's shiny. Mega Gengar had the best shiny of the entire line and it's forever stuck on the 3DS.
Z-moves felt like a step down from mega evolutions, but I still think that there were some cute ones, though I also think they went overboard with the naming conventions on a lot of them, some of them are just way too goofy.
Like I said in the thread specifically about Tera raid battles, I want to like them but dynamax/gigantamax and Tera raid battles are plagued with a litany of issues, bugs and baffling design choices. I like the idea of co-op, multiplayer options in Pokémon, but this just ain't it chief. They have a long way to go before this system is going to be any fun at all for me.
