From Slashdot
schnikies79 writes to mention an Ars Technica article revealing the pricing scheme for retro content on the Wii. From the article: "Iwata revealed that games for Nintendo's "virtual console" that will allow Wii owners to play old titles on their consoles will be priced at

This really sucks :|. What the heck is Nintendo thinking :|. I might buy a couple of games for that price, but if it would've been a dollar or something I would've gotten a bunch of games. This a very poor decision.

We have no idea how they'll be changing these games. You could, for example, be getting new levels with a download of Super Metroid.

I don't want new levels! I want the exact classic!

That' swhat most of us want.

I either want:
-Classic game
-Completely new game

Not a mix

Eh, yeah, that is a little much, but worth it, in my opinion. I mean, you could do it this way for more and download it, or you could try and hunt for it in a pawn shop for a lower price and not be sure if it even works anymore. I don't know about you all, but I pick option #1.

>_> Dirty cheap little runts sellin games for that much when they're not worth anything and I already have all the workin games I need in my room...

I'd rather buy a completely new game, which is what I'm doing.

Guys the 360 is charging games for the same price. And these games are only trials.

The lowest 360 arcade game cost about $7.00 compared to $4 dollars Nintendo is giving.

Yea but you need to buy points.

Yeah, Microsoft started an 'Arcade'. It's not the exact same as the Virtual Console, since they are offering arcade games such as Asteroids and Bejeweled, whilst Nintendo is offering actual games they created for a system.
