Profiles being cleaned up?

Am I the only one that thinks the profile could be cleaned up a bit?

First of all, My Activity should be moved between 'About Me' and 'Friends'. It simply isn't used as much as probably thought it should. I also think it would make profiles look better, with 'Visitor Messages' all the way on the left, and keeping in mind that it's the first "page" you start on when going to someone's profile.

I also think XBox Gamer Tags and PSN ID's should go. This is an Animal Crossing site, a Nintendo game. And thus, getting rid of them (And then allowing people to put it in an alternative part of the profile, I'll get to it later) would make profiles look much more official.
Maybe even moving the Friend Code area to it's own tab would make things look better!

Maybe the "Shop" tab could be taken away. I doubt anyone looks at it (Please tell me otherwise!), and I don't see a reason why everyone should know what you bought.

Another thing I think profiles need is an editable region. Like, for markup, a place to be creative! It'll show that everyone is different and such.

Also, see the white, transparent blocks? I think those could be fixed up as well, to look more Animal Crossing-like. Maybe wooden, with a lighter spot on the top for a title (Or a name, where someone's username goes in the Visitor Messages)


Not related to profiles (A little), but maybe Groups could me moved to an entirely new board? And you'd have to be invited to each thread, or have a password to see it?

I honestly think that this entire site could look and feel so much better, it just takes effort!

I do think it needs some cleaning up, but i'm not fussed by it. I rarely look at peoples profiles anyway

The problem with most of the points you made is that not everyone here is an avid Animal Crossing player anymore. I don't play it as religiously as I use to. I'm find with the gamer tag and the PSN ID fields. They should still be here as this isn't solely an animal crossing forum.

The thing with the groups is that we've tried a few different things. At the old TBT, they had their own board. Completely to themselves. When we switched to VB, we started using their system. I don't think we should confine groups to a single thread or spread them our to their own forum. I think they're fine the way they are.

The only complaint about the profiles that I have is the fact that you can't delete visitor messages. When you do, it just says "Message Deleted" where the original message was.

Even the way it's set up looks...bad though.

Like "Gamer I.D.'s" in the middle, and everything else on the left. Everything is bolded as well. It just looks...crappy!

If I need to, I can make mock-ups or something.

oops I just remembered,
go to: Settings > My Profile > Edit Profile or Profile Privacy

you can hide stuff from other users there and also decide what you want to display.

When you view your own profile you over ride the privacy settings and can see everything. but when i log out and view it as a guest it looks incredibly neat because of my settings.

I think you're being awfully rude... if you don't like specific fields and ****, you don't have to use them? Plus I have no idea what you're talking about with all this centering deal, it looks perfectly normal to me.

Editable regions already exist in your About Me. No reason for the shop tab not to be there. White, transparent blocks look fine and gives a sleek design to the profiles, having the wood would look messy.

I read this forum it's really nice and informative i really like it i get most of useful information from it which can prove beneficial for me i was need some similar post's but i get your post on first search on Google search engine it's fulfill my need i really appreciate it and keep it up!!
