Promotional Profiles?

So, I sometimes see new profiles (not going to say who since I want to keep them private) but their description usually says, come join this website and their signature is a link to that website? I'm just wondering about this. Also, sorry if this goes against the rules. Another thing is, I can't choose a side, so, maybe they have a reason? I just want to know some people's ideas.

Some might just be more or less fishy bots though, and those you can report if they post and are easy to spot.

If you want to link to you IG/yt in your sig though that's fine.

We do this a couple times for TADA but I try to never go overboard. I know people don't really like having advertisment shoved down their throats
