PSA: Nintendo BROKE villager trading AGAIN!

So as you guys know there was a bug going around where if you adopted a villager that was kicked out via campsite the plot that this villager was supposed to move into would be bugged.

This glitch was fixed with the Easter update and after that I completed several successful trades, including giving Chester to someone.

Well, today I had Marshal moving out and one of my friends who wanted her came here to adopt him. He had an open plot and when he came her to invite him to move into his town he agreed. However, when he returned to his town the plot said that it was reserved for Chester (dont know if it was a coincidence) He TT'd to the next day after that to see if it was a mistake or something. But Chester's house had already been built. However when he attempted to go into the house all it said was "I've moved out."

He doesn't have any amiibos so we don't know how to fix this. Any advice would be appreciated.

I heard that you can force them out with an amiibo to fix it (heard from the old villager plot glitch thread) did you force out Marshal and Chester? From what I heard (not confirmed) the problem may be forcing out villagers from the same plot like if you forced out Chester and then Marshal moved into Chesters old plot and then forced out Marshal

It's because I had originally written Merengue and then fixed it to Marshal but didn't fix the pronouns. Had gotten two separate trades mixed up.

No. Chester lived in a different plot.

edit: he doesn't have any amiibo cards to try that fix, sadly. so he'll just have to wait for a regular camper, I guess

Oh man, it sounds like the Void exists in this game too and the bug is from voided villagers moving in instead of invited villagers from a visited town.

So you had Chester move out, then Merengue, then Marshal?

Chester wasnt voided though the OP mentioned Chester was traded.

And yet Chester still appeared in the friend’s town. Doesn’t that sound like there’s a bug with the Void, where a villager that has already moved to someone else’s town is still placed in the Void but in a bugged state (like it records the town name of the place it moved to, so the game thinks the villager is moving out when placed through the void into another person’s town)

I wonder if other people who have this bug are also getting villagers that recently moved out of the towns they visit or of people who visit them.

anyone know what causes this? is it when you kick out two villagers who both moved into the same plot like people have been saying?

I was going to kick out marshal today to see if anyone was interested in trading for him, but after seeing all these new threads I decided against it because I have no idea if it's safe or not lol

A friend of mine experienced this too. He amiibo'd in Marshal and someone came to collected him. Then afterward he amiibo's in Beau, and someone came to collect him - but when this player returned to their town the plot was taken by Marshal and it said 'I've moved out'. No amount of TT'ing has fixed the plot for that person yet. So it's certainly still related to picking up amiibo villagers..
