Hello everyone :lemon:

I am currently trying to get a certain villager (Ren?e) to move out, I am currently on the 3nd day of ignoring her since she moved into my town but received a task from Fauna; she asked me to returned an item to Ren?e (Fauna is a villager I LOVE, want to keep and trying to max out our friendship level as soon as possible), so I was wondering:

- If talking to Ren?e to return the item to her will negate or reset the 'ignoring' thingy-ma-jig on her.
- If giving her stuff back raise the friendship between me and Ren?e.
- If talking to her to give her gift back and/or giving her stuff back will raise the friendship level between us, or draw out her period in my town, I was wondering how I might go about completing this task for Fauna without affecting Ren?e or is it best to just keep the present/fail the task?

Thank you for taking your time to read this thread, and potentially help out a fellow Mayor ^-^

I'm honestly not sure if the "ignoring the villagers you want to move out" method is actually effective? I think the friendlier you are with them, the more they're likely to leave. But at the same time I've had villagers I'm sort of friendly with wanting to move out. Then there are those pesky villagers who barely ever ask to move out and change their mind when you want them to leave. Then they act as if they're doing you a favour!

All in all I mostly think the move out is just random. But I don't think there's any harm in delivering the present to her!

Huh, interesting, I've also heard that before (friendliness = more likely to move), but uhm, seeing as most guides say that ignoring them works, I'm going to be a monkey and follow them :3 (monkey see, monkey do)

But uhm, thanks for the help :) Learn something new everyday :3

I decided to bite the bullet and delivered the gift, just in case anyone else who is out there that is experiencing the same thing as I was, delivering the gift will also result in the friendship increasing between the receiver and you (there was a friendship twinkle sound when I delivered it) not just the giver [ie. in this case, the friendship level of both Fauna and Ren?e both went up - Fauna twice, Ren?e once].

If the 'ignoring'/'not being high on the friendship ladder' does something to likelihood of a villager moving out, I hope that it isn't delayed by that much :S

Yeah, I really don't know! It took me forever to get someone out of my town, and I wasn't ignoring them. But they did eventually leave!

If you're alright with time travelling, I think that would really speed up the process.

How can you tell that the friendship has gone up just by that one act? I can tell after a while since they're more willing to chat, say nicer things and buy my stuff at higher prices. But I can't really tell with those I'm sort of friendly with.

I sure hope you get them to move out soon!

Ironically, it seems to be the ones you're closest to seem to request moving the most- developers trying to say something there?!

Mhm, I don't really know for certain myself, but worth a shot, after all, it's our time being spent ^^

Any who, thanks for the well wishes ^^ I really hope that the villagers I want to move, actually moves :3

But uhm, as for the friendship - I have always considered the sound that plays after completing a favor/task a sign that the friendship between you/me are rising with that villager. I don't really know what the sound is called, but 'friendship twinkle sound' sounds good :p

I've also thought this to be true as..well, the first every villager that moves out was one where I had the highest friendship with. But, if that is the case, I'll definitely test it out after this.

Has ignoring a villager since their move in proved to work? o_o
But anyway, your friendship levels with a villager has absolutely nothing to do with the likelihood of them moving out. It's 100% random with the exception of the most recent move-in, which is very difficult to move out.

I don't really know myself :( But, I see people doing it..soo..being human, it is natural for me to follow. Plus, it's only that certain villager atm, so it doesn't hinder my progression/gameplay as much as switching an entire town :p
Plus, this waiting (even if it doesn't work), adds excitement for when they actually move out XD

Oh! Yes, I know the music you're referring to when you've completed a task for them. The friendship twinkle tsound is an apt description. Haha. I just don't know the different intervals of when you're considered very good friends with them and they're ready to give you a pic compared to being just good friends with them. Is there a guide for that? I sure don't keep track of it.

I have ignored villagers in my cycle town and they moved out without even sending a farewell letter, but I was pretty much ignoring everyone else as well so I don't know if that counts.

Yeah, I agree, the difference doesn't seem to be a lot. But I have yet to find a guide on it, or on friendship for that matter. I have yet to keep track of it myself.
