Question about Amiibo?

I know Nintendo has said that NH will have Amiibo compatibility, but do you think Amiibo cards and figures used in New Leaf will work in NH or do you think Nintendo will release a whole new bunch of Amiibo cards and figures? This might be a dumb question, but I’m not sure how it works. I’m thinking about buying Amiibo cards on Etsy for NL and it would be nice if I could use them in NH when it comes out.

I believe they did confirm for those who already have their Amiibo card collections that they can be used for New Horizons. The figures can be used as well. Doesn't make a lot of sense for them to have released all those cards/figures and for them to not be used. I'm hoping they release some more because I didn't get the chance to collect them all.

Yep, which rocks because I have all the figures, and all of series five cards, plus a bunch of other cards of my favorite villagers.

I bought a handmade set of Sanrio cards from Etsy fairly cheap too.

They work perfectly and look great.

That works out perfect then! I hope they rerelease the cards with set villagers. It’s kind of annoying buying copies that are marked up or buying old sets from Nintendo that can contain duplicates

Plus the absurd prices on Ebay for Sanrio cards.

I finished all the card sets and figurines, but I'm still missing the two Japanese promo cards of Isabelle and KK slider though. I'm excited to see how the amiibos will work in NH, but I do hope they don't lock too much content behind them. Scanning card after card just to get 'exclusives' is annoying.

Though I do hope they integrate the old amiibo cards and figures to New Horizons, they released the cards for New Leaf, so technically they didn't waste it/ they have already been utilized. Though Welcome amiibo was well after the New Leaf release, it still was need that met an end.

In saying that, I think it was silly for them to clearance the figures and cards out, especially if they were going to have a re-release of figures and cards. Though they aren't THAT expensive to make, I am sure that it would be a lot of hassle for Nintendo to start remaking them again, right? I don't know, I just hope to see new stuff released along side the old stuff if they do so.

I think they'll release a few new sets, hopefully also a few cool brand collaboration packs!

I'm mainly hoping they'll still incorporate the Sanrio villagers since I got those as a Christmas gift and I think they cost a pretty penny.. I'd really like to use them again in the new game!

Nintendo wants our money, so I'm sure they'll come out with some new Amiibo (especially if there's new animals) so they can shut up and take it. Glad to hear the old ones will likely be used as well, though.

I've already spent WAY too much on amiibos. More than I care to admit. O_O
