Question about digital vs physical price

One of my irl friends told me that she is buying the digital copy of NH because it is cheaper than the physical price, but when I looked it up on the Nintendo estore myself, it was still $59.99. Is this right? Or is there something I'm missing?

digital is 60, while i believe its $50 at walmart in store, and bestbuy and gamestop are offering $10 rewards cash when you buy.

Third party sites are offering it much cheaper than than physical- in the UK it's almost £10 cheaper!

The Base price is the same for physical and digital but there could be promo or sales that happen with physical that would make it slightly cheap or could just get a bonus. Digital rarely have sales.

Everywhere is selling it for the same 59.99 usd from all I saw. However, they may be referring to the cost of shipping a physical copy.

That's because game companies figured out that people are willing to pay full price for digital games. There is almost never a discount for digital video games when they first come out. It might go on sale on the eshop eventually around a holiday or something, but I wouldn't expect to see that for a few years.

for digital if you have some golden points in your my nintendo account you can get some form of price cut I think
