Question about donating to town fund

Okay so I read on some sites that I needed to donate 500k bells to the "town fund" to obtain a fountain in my town, I did that, and nothing seems to have happened.

I never donated the 200k for the bridge, just went straight to donating 500k, is that the problem? Are all of my bells wasted?

nope; you just have to wait 1 day and then tomorrow, you'll have a bulletin about it. talk to pelly or the meanie, and they'll say in a week it'll be built. <3

Actually it was.
The truth is if you haven't donated 200k already for bridge, then the 500k you donated will just go towards a bridge, then you will need to donate another 500k for fountain.
So sorry but yeah you just lost 300k.

I thought that the money transferred over? I could be wrong though...

But yeah you'll get the bridge before the fountain and then it'll take a week to build, after that you get the fountain then donate 1mil to get either the windmill or lighthouse.

What's with posts from months (or in some cases years) ago getting bumped to the top? Seriously... this seems to be happening a lot lately! This is from February 5th and 6th!
