So, there is this question lingering in my mind for some time when I found out that it costs money to use wifi on original Switch and the Lite version.

Are you paying for the whole month? Or is there a data limit, regardless if you have wi-fi or a broadband network? (such as NBN or ADSL).

Just wondering because I'm not sure if Animal Crossing: New Horizons is going to be online-reliant. Of course, if I only need the internet to catch up with you guys, then the internet problem is sweet, I don't have to use the internet.

I also have other discussions about improvements I want to see in the latest edition to the series we all love. Are my black friends able to have their skin colour by default? Am I able to have a big home like New Leaf? Am I able to align furniture in the middle, instead of to the left or right? (I have OCD).

So far, New Horizons looks awesome, but wondering if internet is compulsory. I will be able to afford it, if there are no data restrictions (I pay $60 Australian dollars for my internet connection a month unlimited data, NBN). I will still pay internet regardless, because some of the games I am buying need internet to download stuff, but it's not online-reliant thankfully.

It is extremely unlikely the game will require internet access. The general rule is a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required for real-time multiplayer, and not for downloading user content, accessing leaderboards and so on. There is no data limit with the online membership.

Skin colour can be chosen, with the tanning feature going out the window. Houses can likely be as large as in New Leaf, though this is unconfirmed and just speculation. Furniture is positioned in half-tiles like in Happy Home Designer.

Thank you very much for this information, I don't think there is any reason to not buy this then!!! Yep, as soon as it comes out, I'm buying! Once again, thanks so much!

P.S. I saw one of the reviews of the game on YouTube, and I thought it was funny when I saw the dresses sway in the breeze! Let's hope it doesn't get too windy LOL. Marilyn Monroe reference. And you get to drop items on the beach and it comes to life! I can put the radio down on the beach!

I agree with AnimalCrossingPerson. The membership is only required when playing against other people online. Where did you get the idea of the data limit? I'm pretty sure Nintendo did not even say a single word about it considering you already had to pay your share for a number of months.

Staying on topic with internet, I'm glad they didn't go too far with this. As a person who played Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, having internet is necessary just to earn in-game rewards and buy stuff which is just... Why is it needed in the first place in single player mode where you don't face against other real people?

Heya! I didn't see whether there was a data limit, that's why I asked. Glad I can afford then. Only 19.99 a year is really good. Oh no, that's not good! I reckon it's to do with they want more money, and yeah, that's a bit too far if it's a game where you don't interact with other people. Thanks for the heads up guys and I'll hopefully get to visit everyone's islands in New Horizons in the near future!

This is really good so far - I am definitely buying and my parents think it's awesome. My brother is contemplating buying one for himself. What I am not looking forward to is - the fudging tarantulas! They freak me out with those eight eyes of theirs!

Thankfully, we don't have them in Australia...
