Question about inviting villagers

So, a few days ago I got more than lucky buy getting Frita and Timbra from mystery islands right after one another.
Of course I invited them to live on my island and everything worked out well, I now had all my ten villagers. Next day I got my second camp visitor and to my surprise it was Wendy....I was so sad to not have anymore room for her, but I played a few games with her and suddenly she said if I win a game against her she will move to my island.
I won....she told me there's no room for her but she talked to Tom Nook and he suggested one of my villagers might want to leave if she asks.
So she did and I could force the villagers to leave to make room for Wendy.

Now I have two questions: I didn't use any amiibo but Wendy forced my villagers out, does this glitch happen in that case too?
And if someone ist selling/Trading a villager (in boxes) and I have no room on my island, can I still go there and get the same option as Wendy gave me?

Yes, ghe glitch also happens if they were kicked out by a random camper. Not sure about the second question, I dont think you can but havent tried it.

Oh I didn't know that villagers forced out by a random camper also cause the glitch, thought it was just Amiibo ones. I'll definitely keep this in mind when villager offering or adopting

EDIT: My mistake, it seems like the poster above is right. The warning was issued for both random campers and amiibo ones.
