Question about making a link?

I am such a noob on this site i swear lol
but i want to get rid of the drop down and get
a link disguised as a word.
like i have seen people do this they would type a word say like
(HELLO)
and if you click on the word
it sends you to a place they linked.
so how would i go about doing this?​

click on the button next to the smiley face, it has an earth with two weird linked circles. highlight the word you want to be linked, and the rest should be self explanatory.

what? you're supposed to highlight the word then click on it.

all i did to post this link was highlight the word, click the button, paste the link, and press ok. it should appear as a link, and once you got it, you're done. if you wanted to get rid of the dropdown, delete
