Alrighty so, Im trying to teach myself how to use sai, and I would like better brushes to use
However, I only have the basic ones such as sketch, pen, color, pencil etc., and I was wondering; How do you get more brushes?

I see people using all these different ones, but Im not sure how they get them. I looked around for a bit, but the results are only showing me what to change the brush settings that are already.

Any help?

Hmm do you mean textures? Like there are extra textures for pebble, stones etc which you can apply to your brush. People sometimes make custom textures, which you can download and add to your sai file.

Other than that, you can only make new brushes & watercolor brushes (which are there by default) by right-clicking on a empty field in the tool box and change the settings to create different effects. They are not downloadable.
Did this clear your question..? ;O;

if you need help for the use of sai I'm coincidentally hosting this [x] tomorrow xD

You can make any type of new brush, are you using the old version?

Anyways ryky on deviantART has a tonne of great resources like step by step tutorials on colouring, brush settings and etc
Once I get onto PC I'll post some examples of brushes I use :)

im not sure if this is what you're asking for, but if you want to make use of some of the basic brushes, i can share some ways each brush can be great for a certain part in drawing. you can always switch it around, but this is just how i use each brush

binary: used for pixel art, and the binary tool is pretty much all you'd need
brush: sketching - using a 3.5 sized tip works best, but of course, it would depend on the canvas size
ink pen: great for line art because depending on how much pressure is released as you remove the tip of the pen from the tablet, it'll leave that sharp point that looks good in most drawings imo
water color: i usually only use this if i want to blend two colors together smoothly and top it off with the blur brush
acrylic, paper and crayon: they're alright if you want some texture, but as others have recommended, downloading original textures is probably the best choice
marker: used for shading and if you want to leave sharp/solid edges where the shading is, this is the best tool for it imo
air brush: best used for soft shading/coloring

here's a great resource for both settings-based and installable brushes.
installable brushes require dumping some files into various SAI file directories, the tutorial for which is here.
