Question about selling lots

I had my first camper and I had to let him move in.
I then spoke to Tom Nook and decided to sell land to have another villager to move in.
My question is, since I’ve ran out of nook miles and want to go to sleep LOL ( or harder to get more miles ), will the lot be sold right away to a new villager?

It can take a single day, or it can take up to a couple. Just depends if the game wants a villager to move in or not.
