Question about TBTs

So I created my account back in 2017, I believe. But I only had one post, and it wasn't until I got New Horizons that I went back to the forums and started to post regularly.

I know what TBT is but I never used the system and I don't know how it works. I also know that, due to the change from vBulletin to XenForo, the TBT system is currently disabled.

My question is, are we earning TBTs while the system is down, when we post? I've written a few posts before the transition from one platform to the other, but I never got to see if I had TBTs or anything like that. As the forum is probably getting a lot of new users lately, and other who returned in the last few weeks, I would like to know how/if we're still getting TBTs during this time, even if the store is currently disabled.


Thanks in advance, and also, thanks for keeping these forums afloat. The change to XenForo was a game changer, and it was one of the factors that made me feel more comfortable posting regularly.

i had stopped coming to the forums between 2014 and 2020 and i accrued a few hundred tbt bells for my birthday each year

It seems that we're still earning TBT but then a bot removes them? I looked under Shop (next to Alerts) -> Transactions to find my earning history. There were a few new transaction where I got +1-3 TBT for a post, but then there's usually another transaction where I spent 1 TBT without doing anything

When you edit your post the system needs to recalculate how many bells the post is now worth. So the system reverses the previous transaction before giving you the new total.

Oh! Thank you for the clarification. I was wondering why only some posts had an extra transaction to spend a TBT
