Question of the day: Thought provoking questions from work

Question: Let’s not focus on the bad, what’s your earliest GOOD memory?

My answer: I have several of them. One of them is when I was in elementary school and was reading like crazy. My teacher said to my parents that I’m very smart and I would be even smarter some day, which I am.

Another one that’s probably even more dear to me is when I was at my dad’s house when I was very young. He told me to say, “I love you, dad!” After he said he loves me. I ended up saying it and he was recording it. He showed me the recording many years later and I thought it was very sweet.

I'm not sure of the timeline on most of my earliest memories, so I'll just pick one of the best ones. One time when I was anywhere between 3-5 years old, I remember I was awake in the middle of the night and my dad had come in to check on me. I pretended to be asleep, but being a young kid I clearly wasn't faking it well enough.

So he picked me up, carried me in his arms, and said something like "I guess Aiden's asleep, I guess I can put him outside in the cold!" or something silly like that. I burst into laughter and he tucked me back into bed. That's one of the best memories I have with my dad.
