Question on Island Tours - are people getting a wide variety?

It may just be confirmation bias, but it seems that I am only getting 4 different designs and that is it.

I get Orange Island (my main fruit is Apple)
I get Ore Island (top is 5 rocks)
I get Bell Island (6 rocks all money, must use pole to get to center island)
I get two level river (useless that I can tell so far as in nothing special)

Then I have also gotten only twice

Bamboo Island
Pansy Hybrid Island

My friend has gotten Tarantula island twice, but I have never seen it at all.

Anyone else experiencing this? Or was I wrong to assume that there was going to be great variety in the islands?

I got even less variety then you! I did go to one island where every fish I caught was a sea bass. I was so mad I spent 2000 miles I almost threw my console against the wall.

I went a bunch of times on villager hunts and I noticed a decent amount of variety but it didn't feel super different? Although I did mostly go on tours during the daytime in game (or I would change it to daytime) because playing at night in game for too long hurts my eyes. So that may be why I didn't get as much variety as if I had gone at night time. I did get hybrid islands, bamboo, money island, etc but after a while they all kind of felt similar layout wise/flower wise/fruit wise.

Here's a page that has details about the different island tours. The different islands have different probabilities of showing up, and it sounds like some of them can only be seen once per day.

But the point is, they're not as randomly generated as we thought. And some island types that are different use the same layout. That's why it's easy to see the same layouts over and over again.

I feel like I get a decent variety. I've been getting a three level mostly waterfall island that is really pretty. I've gotten apple island. I've gotten a hybrid rose island and a hybrid tulip island. I've seen bamboo island. I've been to a big pond island which only had carp, koi, and trash in it. I finally saw money rock island! I went to the bass island. I found an island that spawned man faced stink bugs like crazy. (I made good money that trip.)I haven't seen tarantula island yet, but my husband found it once.

I find them different enough to break up the gameplay and they are all a tiny bit different in their own ways. I mostly get excited when I find DIY bottles on them and there is always a new furniture item that falls out of a tree on the normal islands.
