Is it normal for whenever you ask for a freebie on someones thread they never do it for you?
I've asked 7 art threads and I was very specific and did not go beyond their limits, but they never drew it!

It's normal. People will choose what they don't and do wanna draw. Some people go out of their way to draw every. single. character in the thread- but not often.

Unless you're paying, your request isn't super important for them to get done.

Well you have to understand that people have really busy lives and sometimes they don't have time or they forget about it, especially since it's for free. Or sometimes they only choose what they want to draw.

well, you never have a proper ref, and that basically means you are telling the artist to design your character which isnt really fair for a freebie and also on most freebie threads they don't say that theyll do everyone, maybe they just didn't want to do it lol

You need a reference, a visual one is more better than a descriptive one. It helps give the artist position to draw what you want than to put pieces together like a puzzle. It also depends on what the artist is interested in drawing which means you're not 100% guaranteed to get a piece in a freebie thread.

You can also draw, you have a shop. Draw a better ref.

well you can just make a little doodle of them, right? Doesn't have to be super detailed or anything. heck, my first drawing I made of my mayor was simple but it gave out enough of the basic details for people to want to draw her.
honestly if you want a drawing you're gonna have to get a proper reference photo for them. good luck though.

you're not always going to get what you want

sometimes the artist can't do everyone's oc. plus you're giving a descriptive description. make an actual drawing of the oc so they have a better example to draw with.

When people ask me to draw something for them but they only give me a description - unless it's something that really catches my interest there's about a 99% chance I won't draw it.

Iirc you had an art thread that never did a single request? You can't really complain.

excuse me but i did all requests except for a few where i contacted them.
It's not my fault im too busy with school. You should know.

You're definitely gonna have to get a proper drawing. People are just more likely to draw something they can see, rather than having to go back to the description every 2 minutes to make sure they didn't mess it up.
If you REALLY want a drawing, pay for one.
You have more than enough tbt for most of the art shops here.

People are busy with school and life as well.
Plus people pick who they want to draw for, its not first come first serve in most cases
