Quick question about discussing a resident's clothes with Isabelle

Heya all!

Apologies if this has been asked and answered before, but I couldn't really find any threads that talked about this so I wanted to ask:

What happens when you complain to Isabelle about a resident's clothes? In NL iirc it would change them into a plain white shirt, is this the case in NH too? Do they change into their default original clothes or into a default plain looking shirt?

I accidentally gave one of my villagers something that doesn't really fit them and I want them to stop wearing it and go back to their default clothes, but I'm scared doing this will change them into something uglier.

As far as I’m aware they change back into their default clothing, although I’m unsure if the clothing actually gets deleted from their ‘closet’

Hi! Ken has this yellow raincoat - I think maybe it was an item someone else gave him that I delivered for them - and every time he wears it I complain to Isabelle and he immediately changes to his default outfit. But, he always changes back into it, so it's not removed from his wardrobe.

the raincoat is pretty much like their workout outfit, it comes with them and they'll keep wearing them when it's raining unfortunately.

Oh okay! I didn't even thing about the closet thing tbh... the resident in question is Diana and she doesn't have a wardrobe in her house so I can't really check her stored clothes. Oh well, guess I'll just try complaining and see if she dares wear it again. Thanks! <3

Oh I know - but it hasn't rained since he moved to my Island and it is an item another villager gave him. I think becausethey had been fighting or something.
