Quick question, maybe.

I have a digital copy and a physical copy of New Leaf. I have one 3DS XL and my brother has a regular 3DS.

My question is that: Will anything happen if I use the physical copy on my 3DS XL, that contains the digital version?

I"m afraid that the hard copy will override or delete my digital copy if I play on my XL. I am only asking because the physical copy is used as a giveaway town and I can't really use my bro's 3DS unless I bargain with him or when he's at school. Then I have to hide it from my baby brother because then he wants it. If I can play both versions of the game on one 3DS, then things will be a lot easier. I also googled it, but I couldn't find the answer.
