I’m new to this site and have a quick question. What does “Bump” mean? I’ve been in many threads and I’ve seen many people post the word “Bump” so many times and I don’t know what that means. I would like to know so if I need to use it sometime. :)

"Bumping" a thread is commenting so that it shows up at the top of the forums list! People say "bump" to mean they're bumping their thread. :)

I just want to add here that outside of trading boards saying "bump" to push up your post is actually against the rules. All posts in discussion boards need to contribute something to the thread.

"Bring up my post"
*screaming internally*
‘Bump’ is an abbreviation?? I had no idea 😮
it really isn't, and idk why people keep constantly spreading this lie around

it's simply called bumping a thread, because you're pushing it to the top. there's no clever abbreviation to be had here for an age old internet term, and any actual thought on the matter in usage ("stop bumping so many threads" or "just bumped my thread" as basic examples) would prove this
