For some reason I have ended up with one of these in my town. I haven't time travelled and I don't think there's any weeds in my town, so why do I have it and how do I get rid of it?

Yes, to get rid of it, just make sure no weeds grow near it and just leave it.

I heard you can make it rot faster by trying to clean up your town. For example, if you ask Pelly or Phyllis about the environment and they say your town is doing really poorly, it means sections of your town are missing trees or flowers and this is what lets rafflesia grow. If you have plenty of trees and flowers all over, then it will wilt and go away. Not doing anything to plant trees or flowers may eventually make it go away because new flowers grow every day at 6 am, but planting more yourself is supposed to help.

All you have to do is keep your Town in perfect condition. This means that you should perfect your town with the "Perfect Town" guide, get rid of any garbage that isn't fruits or shells and make sure you absolutely have no weeds in your town.

Yeah, although mine's looking a little dead at the moment so hopefully it'll go soon.
