So far, we have 11 handhelds and consoles released by Nintendo. They are:
- NES
- SNES
- Gameboy (including GB Color)
- Nintendo 64
- Gameboy Advance (including GBA SP)
- GameCube
- Nintendo DS (including DSi)
- Wii
- Nintendo 3DS (including new 3DS, 2DS, and new 2DS)
- Wii U
- Switch
If you had to rank all of these from best to worst, how would you do it? It can be based on both hardware and software.
In my opinion, I would rank them as:
1. Nintendo Switch
2. GameCube
3. Nintendo 64
4. Nintendo 3DS
5. NES
6. SNES
7. Nintendo DS
8. GBA
9. GB/GBC
10. Wii U
11. Wii
For handhelds, I think newer is better. But for consoles, the N64 and GameCube beats them all, until Mr. Switch came and took the crown. It is the best invention since sliced bread. Not a fan of the Wii brand.
1.) Nintendo Switch
2.) Wii
3.) Nintendo 3DS
4.) SNES
5.) Gameboy Advance
6.) Nintendo DS
7.) GameCube
8.) Gameboy
9.) NES
10.) Nintendo 64
11.) Wii U
In my opinion, the Wii U is trash. Even though I grew up with an N64, NES and GameCube I truly don’t like them. I realize that’s a pretty unpopular opinion but I honestly believe most people rank them highly mostly due to nostalgia. And I really do believe the Switch is a perfect console
1- Gameboy Advance ( my first ever console)
2- Game cube
3- Wii U
4- 3DS
5- Wii
thats it lmfao not gonna bother & list the rest cause I didn't own any of them & switch is **** I'm sorry
also bless maple for putting the Wii u before the switch
1. Between switch or 3ds
2. Between switch or 3ds I can't decide
3. Gameboy advanced
4. Nintendo ds
5. Wii
6. Wii u
7. Game cube
8. Nintendo 64
The rest I haven't played them
I seen them but never had the chance
While GameCube was my first ever console for me to own

1. GCN
2. Nintendo 64
3. 3DS
4. Wii U
5. DS
6. SNES
7. Switch
8. Wii
9. GBA
10. GBC
11. GB
12. NES
In reality, the Wii is my least favorite console, but I put the GB lines and NES lower just because their games are just so outdated and minigame like. The Wii may house pretty much the worst games from a lot of my favorite franchises (Animal Crossing, SSB, etc.) but at the end of the day the only thing that the GB and GBC are remembered for in my mind are Pokemon, and the NES... I'm just tired of having those games crammed into my face all of the time. They're so horribly outdated, too.
I don't know know where to put the Switch at this point. So far it has been a Wii U port console, with only one title of note of its own: Super Mario Odyssey. At this point I'll put the Switch just above the Wii, but hopefully it will get better.
1. SNES - My favorite console of all time. Most of my favorite franchises reached their peak on the SNES like Metroid, Mario and, arguably, Zelda. And companies like Square and Konami were actually good back then. I vastly prefer 2D over 3D and seeing how 2D games never got better than this, to me this is the ultimate system.
2. NES - This is the console I grew up with so for nostalgic reasons I love it almost as much as the SNES. However, most games haven't aged as well. There are some gems for it though, like Mega Man II which is still a 10/10 game to this day.
3. Game Boy - Lot's of nostalgia for the first version with the greenish screen. Some good games too like Link's Awakening, Mario's Picross and Balloon Kid.
4. Nintendo 64 - Oh I remember how they hyped up the N64. Ultimately it was a huge disappointment with only a handful of great games but I'll never forget those days of local multiplayer deathmatches in Goldeneye with my family.
The controllers were really bad quality-wise. I didn't mind the odd design of the controller but the analog sticks got loose and unresponsive after a while.
5. 3DS - Great system with a great selection of games. Really deserves to be higher but lack of nostalgia brings it in at number 5. I also like how they didn't force the gimmicky 3D on you except for a few games like Super Mario 3D Land.
6. Game Boy Advance - Pretty much a portable SNES. Had some nice titles like the Metroid games.
7. Gamecube - Didn't leave as much of an impression as previous consoles by Nintendo. Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were all pretty mediocre imo.
8. Switch - C'mon. The Switch just turned 1, no way is it gonna get higher than this right now. Odyssey is the only great exclusive for it so far. I'm not sold on the console itself either. It's just too much of a compromise. Underpowered compared to the competition, to big and clunky to be a real successor to the 3DS. Also not a fan of how they force motion controls on you.
9. DS - Never played it that much tbh.
- Virtual Boy, Wii & WiiU - Haven't played any of these. The Virtual Boy wasn't released here and the Wii and WiiU just felt to gimmicky for my taste. I skipped those two generations of consoles completely.
